I'm so glad that you posted the picture of the bent clips. I still didn't get it until I saw the pix. By the way your hair is gorgeous! Back to the clips, I tried this today and it made a huge difference. Thanks for sharing that tip!

If it smells good put it in your hair, if it tastes good spit it out!

The JTCHI is after I got my hair done at the Jonathan Torch Curly Hair Institute. I loved that day!! Those curls were individually twirled by the stylist and lasted 4 days! Very fun!

2happy,
Still loving the dryer--use the hand for the underneath and undersides, then switch to a bowl for the top with clips and for the bottom curls. No frizz and no damage--sooooooo great!

medusahair,
every once in a while I try it--it takes a lot of patience and it never looks like when the salon does it but there is some uniformity. Try it on a "you" day when the most important thing you have to do is your hair! Lots of CK, a comb with a sharp point on the end and you're good to go!

Bumping to say Thanks! The bent clips are a really good tip and they are so secure. (This idea should be on a sticky)
Previously I went to Carlos who said the thing about *hanging clothes on a line* but that did not work for me.

For anyone who hasn't been able to get clips to work, try this!

And mrfhnl, did you ever get any photos taken? You've been my hair-hero for a while now.

(Now I will have to resist the desire to buy the Deva Ion dryer, I did not need to remind myself about it by rereading this thread )
CG since 7/04 2a/3a Carlos:"Strong wavy"
Fine brunette Cut to shoulder length from past bsl - love it shorter = curlier!
Spirals in summer Wavy S's in winter
MOP c-system hydrating poo & moisture complex
Wavymecurly, thanks so much!
I took a pic tonite and added it. (OctoberAnaCut) It's from tonite's first day hair. I got some great height from the bent clips. That trick is working so well for me-I'm so glad you like it! 4 trips to Devachan and finally, a clip tip I can actually use!!
and ps, I still love the dryer!

are any of your pics with the deva dryer????? I'm debating it.
Deciding what to be when I grow up!!!
Mostly a 3b with thick, dry, frizzy hair. Using Jessicurl CC, re:coil, jessicurl conditioners and Elucence and Curl Junkie
Look at this pic and the next one after it: http://www.elle.com/gallery.aspx?sec...t=19&slide=off
2C-3A??? Currently using Curly Q Milkshake, 3-minute Aussie Miracle, using non-sulphate shampoos, MopTop Pomade, Boots curl creme, always looking for that next miracle product for my hair! My PJ is never satisfied.
Just washed my hair so this was perfect timing to see this! I'm going to bend some clips and try it right now.

Your hair is fabulous and I especially love the JT day twirled hair too! Just gorgeous curls!!
2b/3a, primarily use Jessicurl and DevaCurl products, Curls Hair Tea conditioner and various gels. I'm modified CG-ish since 5/04.

Good luck with the clips; I once started a thread that I was a clip spaz and not with that simple trick, I use them all the time!

Thanks for that tip, too!

Thanks Icequeen,
Yes, I am still using them. Did you make sure to get the chamois texture as opposed to the waffle towel? I love this thing! I use it on my daughters too.
I get zero frizz from them!

Do you use CurlKeeper? I love my Deva products but I really believe the CK makes all the difference in the world!

No, I don't use CK. It left my hair feeling plastic like. I'm a huge fan of the Mop Top line (never any frizz with it) and Deva runs a close second.

Duh. Of course - bend the clips! I had totally given up on them because I could never get them to stay up. So I'd resigned myself to having the top of my hair remain flat . . . bending tonight, trying them tomorrow.
