I get this same kind of frizz as this last photograph also. Can someone speculate on what type it is and give it a name?
I read through this post and the descriptions are great, but I'm still not getting clear understanding of what reads like subtle differences between all the different types.
Anyone care to identify the frizz in this last photo (and share their own so we can see examples)?

I'm no expert
I'm one of you all waiting for an answer, but I'll share something that helped a lot for me. Smoeone, in another thread, since no one has offered us help here, mentioned that they had something similar to me and it was because I was getting too much protein. Now I knew I wasn't supposed to use protein much based on my hair analysis, BUT I just assumed that protein, meant "don't do protein treatments" I never thought or knew that conditioners, rinse outs, gels, etc could also contribute and when I checked my stuff, everything had protein. so I switched stuff, and get this. . . . about 85% of the frizz was gone!! Amazing. Who knows if this is everyone's case, but that's mine.

I had the same thing going on. When I washed my hair it felt dry, even when wet. And when I squeezed the water out after washing and co-ing it, it was one big frizzy, knotty, dry mess. So I moisturized it, leaving protein out this time, and after a couple of times DT my hair started to feel soft again.

I am shamelessly bumping this thread, because this is the kind of frizz I'm still getting, and I donno what kind it is, what's causing it, or how to fix it!

What products are you using? For me this type of frizz occurs when I use a combo of mag. sulfate (salt) and oil. Or something with honey. Marshmallow root contains "sugars" as well, so that could be it.
To solve it: try using an oil first on wet hair, for sealing and clumping evenly, then another product for curlformation and/or a gel.

What kind of oil do you suggest?
It happens regardless of products. Ive gone product-less, ive used a lot of LI, less LI, deep conditioners, lighter CO's, PT's, products w/protein & products w/o, and didnt notice a difference when i used mag sulfate or not.

I use mostly coconut oil. Sometimes Jessicurl Confident Coils styling solution, for sealing.

I think the crimp frizz may have two causes. Aside from suffocation, I strongly believe it can be caused by the hair being too dry.
Before I even knew I had 3a/3b curls, I only used sulphate shampoos that had no silicones in it and my hair was very crimped because of the dryness. Once I started washing my hair with more oils, the crimped frizz went away.

My hair loves to frizz. Even on a day like this, when I had such good definition, it still frizzed! Is this canopy frizz?
