Default Taylor Swift?

Is her hair naturally curly? If it is, how does she get it like that? I'm pretty sure it's natural, I went to her concert last month and she kept flipping her hair around, and she got her hair wet and it still wouldn't straighten..

She does have naturally curly hair, but I think she often makes the curls more even and perfectly shaped with a curling iron. You just hold the curling iron parallel to your head and wrap the hair around the outside of the barrel, holding the ends while it heats. Don't use the clip. It's easy to do, but can be really damaging if you do it often.

I just read an interview with her in a hairstyle magazine. She said it was naturally curly but she primped it with a curling iron to make it look better, like wavyblonde said.
It's too bad, cuz I like her side bangs and was thinking of getting some. But I definitely do not have the patience nor the time to style them like she does, so maybe I won't

Her hair is naturally curly, but she rarely wears it like that. Her hair in her "Teardrops" music video was achieved by curling small pieces of hair around (I would guess) a medium sized curling iron barrel. Like here: http://img.gactv.com/GAC/2007/01/31/...7video_h_j.jpg

However, in other parts of that music video (when she's wearing that gorgeous dress) her hair has extensions in it. I couldn't find a picture of the back, but here's a decent one: http://img.gactv.com/GAC/2007/01/31/...7video_v_p.jpg

I would imagine her natural hair is close to this: http://image.lyricspond.com/image/t/...t/cd-cover.jpg

But it's really hard to tell since she has an entourage of hair people to make her hair as curly or as straight as possible. She could also use wigs, hair pieces, and extensions.

I think her hair is naturally curly, but what we see when she's at an awards show, in a music video, or in magazines isn't really what her hair does. It's been manipulated in that.

I've long been suspicious that her current curly look is almost purely the result of irons...

This is a pic of her as a young teen:

I suppose her hair could have gotten curlier after puberty, but I'm going to guess that this is her natural texture here:

http://www.absolutely.net/photos/tay...964_photo.html

...which would put her in the 2a/b range, tops.

Thoughts? Anyone have any pictures of her before she was famous with curly hair?

Default here are some links;Taylor swift the Younger

there seems to be a lot of different pics of her hair being mostly straight, or slightly wavy and then in her more "glammed" up photos- like when she's not horse back riding or outdoors and dressed down, but is dressed for some occasion, her hair looks more "curl enhanced" for want of a better term. But I can't condemn her for that because my curls are "enhanced" to maximize their curl too.

Seems like she's definitely in the wavy range. I don't fault her for enhancing her curls, but as a 2c myself I just wish that there were more (or, really, any) 2c-ish celebrities who would wear their hair in its natural state. My husband pointed out that wavy/curly celebrities always seem to have either big, perfectly coiled hair (i.e. curled with an iron) or flat, smooth hair with little curls and loops at the bottom (Brazilian blow-out, or straightened and curling ironed at the tip...), you rarely see hair that falls between those extremes.

It looks like curling iron curls. I would like to see more celebs with natural curls. They view it as a negative in the media which is unfortunate. Look at the InStyler. The online videos feature a girl stying beautiful curly-haired women with a variety of textures and patterns and he constantly calls their hair 'unruly'! I want to slap him! LOL

That was one intensive photo gallery! Looking through it, I would speculate that she got "straight perms" as we called them when I was younger. You know, you buy the perm solution, but just put it on your hair and comb it through. It never totally straightened the hair, like leaving a little bit of a wave. There is one particular picture where she has pretty curly roots (like 5 inches worth) and straighter ends, I can't remember where it was in the plethora of pictures, so that would be my guess as to why there is such a wide variance in the pictures. I mean, she has curly hair as a little girl and there are a few pictures where she has obviously badly straightened it and the curly pictures. I would hazard a guess that she's somewhere between a 2b, 2c, and 3a...probably all 3 and that's why they use the curling iron to "enhance" her "natural curl."

And while we're on the freaking subject. Why the heck doesn't Brad Paisley's wife Kimberly Wlliams-Paisley ever wear her hair curly anymore? Like in Father of the Bride? It's a crying shame, I tell ya!

This area is under construction as my hair type changed and nothing works well for me. I shampoo, I condition and pretty much have done nothing but chuck my hair in a messy bun for the past oh...year? Yeah, I'm that lazy.

No...going no-poo or CG does not work for me. It leaves me overconditioned and oily in a second no matter what I use, so that's not what's not working.

Actually, that's how my hair was in my later childhood years (7-14). Her hair as a young kid looks a lot like mine did back then including color, and I didn't get any kind of perm. My hair went from being loose wavy/nearly straight up until 6-7, and then started getting crazy all over with weird textures here and there, frizz and super little curls only at the roots and on the side wisps, etc. I can only imagine what people thought of my parents lol. I'm not surprised that they kept in in ponies for most of my life with how nutty mine was.

So I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'm living proof that your hair can look one way when you're young and be totally crazy and inconsistent from one photo to the next and then grow up to be a whole other sort of crazy

actually her hair has been 2b/3a since the day she was born... her hair was not wavy she used to come home crying every day cause her "friends" would make fun of her curly hair and she spent hours trying to straighten it before school. thats why her hair is so big and curly and some pictures and straight it others. the others have a wave maybe because thats her second day wearing it after straightening it mine looks the same. she even wrote a song about how her friends were teasing her for her appearance and love for country music. But yes she does use a curling iron now but obviously not when shes little
