What ingredient in this product frizzes up my hair?

I ordered and am using Redken Soft Spin 05 gel. Although this stuff makes my curls much curlier, it also adds a little of a frizz halo. My HESMU doesn't do this, and I want to know what is in this Redken stuff that my hair doesn't like compared to the HESMU. Any ideas? Also, is there any other curl enhancers that work just as good as/better than the Redken without whatever ingredient is bugging my hair?

Redken Soft Spin:

water, sorbitol, glycerin, trethanolamine, propylene glycol, carbomer, oleth-10 phosphate, amp-acrylates/allyl methacrylate coplymer, phenoxyethanol, peg-40 hydrpgenated castor oil, parfum/fragrance, caprylyl glycol, methylaraben, ethylparaben, disodium edta, butylphenyl methylpropional, linalool, limonene, citronellol, tocopheryl acetate, avocado oil, benzophenone-4, methlisothiazolinone, geraniol, benzyl alcohol, benzyl salicylate, hydroxycitronellal, hydroxypropyltrimonium hydrolyzed wheat protein, alpha isomethyl ionone

HESMU:

Water, Laureth-23, Polyquaternium-4, Bambusa Vulgaris Leaf/Stem Extract, Cereus Grandiflorus (Cactus) Flower Extract, Fragrance/Parfum, Hydroxyethylcellulose, Benzyl Alcohol, Acrylates/Beheneth-25 Methacrylate Copolymer, Aminomethyl Propanol, Acrylates Copolymer, Propylene Glycol, DMDM Hydantoin, Disodium EDTA.

I think these are the correct ingredients. Any help would be nice as I know nothing about ingredients.

Glycerin?
The HESMU doesn't have any and Redken has it as the 3rd ingredient.
As above, glycerine is a humectant and is a known cause of frizziness in some people. If I'm not mistaken, propylene glycol is also a humectant so could be a contributing cause.
The hydrolyzed wheat protein is a third possibility. Personally, I'm so-so with hydrolyzed wheat, but hydrolyzed soy or keratin makes my hair all crazy.
Gotta be the glycerin. It makes my hair a lot curlier, but I do get surface frizz. I think I can live with it, though.
2c/3a with 2b underlayer. Fine, porous. Loves protein. But not hydrolized wheat protein. Yuck.

I get the same thing with glycerin, great ringlets but a ton of halo frizz especially if it's humid out. I tried that Redken gel and had the same results.
3b/c fine, thick, porous, protein sensitive
Modified CG, CJ Rehab, JCWDT, KCKT, VO5 Chamomile Tea Therapy, CJDF, HEBE Gel/Mousse, Bioinfusion Rosemary Mint shampoo, occasional protein

Are there any curl enhancers out there that are glycerin-free?

I use a curl enhancer after my leave in. None give me hold so I apply a styler after.
Scrunching and diffusing using the pixie-curl method encourages more curl than any product alone.
Skip curling is great for those areas that aren't curly enough.
