KCCC-use alone or with gel ???

How should i use the KCCC ? Do i apply it over a leave in conditioner ? do I brush it through my chin length, thick, coarse 2c/3a hair ? Do i apply gel too ? It seems heavy and I'm not sure how much to use. I tried it before a few months ago and it made my hair fluffy without real curl definition. Any hints ? thanks !!

Worrying is like being in a rocking chair; it gives me something to do but it doesn't get me anywhere.

Best combo so far:
Shea moisture leave-in and BRHG

krispy,
I used it for the first time yesterday. Before I did that, I did what Curlsalot suggested and searched on the site and on youtube.

Yesterday I used it after cowashing with Burt's Bees Pomegranate Soy conditioner and putting on lots of Kinky Curly Knot Today leave-in conditioner. My hair was very fluffy, but I thought it looked pretty good. It ended up greasy by the end of the day, so I figured I overdid the conditioner.

Today, I used the KCKT as a rinse-out, and then applied the KCCC. I put BRHG on top, and this has really defined my waves.

I rubbed the KCCC between my palms and smoothed it over my hair. There are some good videos people have made of how they put it on.

I think the amount of conditioner and the use of a gel on top are going to be a matter of trial and error, judging from all the posts on it.

My hair is very thick and wavy, and tends toward oiliness rather than dryness, so I think that's why I got better curls today by rinsing out the conditioner.

I hope the KCCC works for you.

ive not had any luck with it yet.. it is quite a bummer.. so very interested in different techniques for application. So far all it does is make my curls flattened waves.. i used the super soaker method so next time i am going to scrunch out well with no ssm.. ssm gives me too much clumping i think esp with kccc. Ive used it with KCKT one time and another with a curl junkie leave in.. the curl assurance one i think. might try it with no leave in and another gel on top next time.

Yep, lots of trial and error. I've heard that it can take longer than usual to dry if applied to soaking wet hair. Here are some ways I use it:
over a leave-in (KCKT, GDLI, Recoil) brushed through with a Denman, then more scrunched in.
Sometimes with a gel scrunched in after (HEBE, BRHG).
I've also scrunched in a bit more after blowdrying 10 minutes or so. There is a fairly new thread on this technique:
