So I wore my hair down for the first time since I started CG and I got TONS of compliments from my girl friends.. but all the boys were making fun of it and calling me a frizzhead and a curly fry (greattt insults, i know.) So tomorrow I'm wearing my hair down again.. just to show them I don't care what they think of my hair because I know it's pretty.

Ok...1st off....boys are stupid. 2nd...they usually tease the ones they like ;*) and lastly...your hair is beyond gorgeous!!! I am truly in envy of it...wow!

I just went over to your album to see your pic more clearly, and that's so adorable. Your hair actually flatters your face and is cute.

And yes, I have to second the fact that boys of a certain age (and older) can be incredibly stupid and ignorant and hurtful. Part of it is seeing you different than your norm. It's a fact of life--change makes some people act weird and stupid.

Keep on flying your curly hair flag, and eventually, the boys who aren't idiots will come forward and tell you how fun your hair is. Walk with pride and show them they're so dumb and wrong.

I started wearing my hair natural--and very frizzy, as I didn't know how to care for curls and, well, was too poor to buy good products even if I did-- when I was 18 and went to college. I never got a nasty comment. I got marriage proposals. I met my beautiful hubby who loves my curls. In fact, I got compliments on my curls. And I saved time and money since I let my hair airdry--didn't need a dryer-- and would just leave a hairdresser after the cut was done.

I could go to the beach and not worry, as my hair dried looking cool and beachy-curly and looked kinda like that chick in Last Tango in Paris.

I must be lucky not to have been around too many superdorks.

Now, at least, you have resources to keep your curls hydrated and enhanced. I suggest you get a t-shirt and notebook --or several--with classic art showcasing beautiful curly girls (like Botticelli or the Pre-Raphaelites, etc) as proof that MEN love curls, even if BOYS are idjits.

Yep. As a way to get attention. They also tease just cause they do. It's part of being young and dumb, ya know? Tease the one who's "different". Conformity is strangely huge at that age.

When they're teasing you, just join in - show them it doesn't bother you! You could say something like "c'mon, you can come up with something better than that!". I think they're teasing you because they like you! They just haven't figured out another way to talk to you.

You are adorable and you have super gorgeous hair! The boys who are teasing you are just trying to get you to pay attention to them. If they weren't interested they wouldn't bother teasing.

I think there is a difference between teasing and really insulting someone. I often tease people I really like and they tease back and its a back and forth good natured thing. Unless the boys are really insulting in a mean spirited way, I think they like you and like your hair. Be flattered!

Wow, you're such a beauty. And yes, I second that they're teasing you cause they like you. I think it's also cause they know you're too much for them so the only thing they can do is tease you. In Arabic we have a proverb that means those who cannot reach the grape say it must be sour... I don't know if there is such a proverb in English but you know what I mean

They definitely thought your hair was super cute. My bf has admitted to teasing girls he liked in the past, one time even pulling the curls of a girl he thought had cute hair. Thank goodness he's grown up!

My daughter is almost 13yo and she doesn't cave into the straight hair peer pressure. She makes me so proud and so do you.

Yep.. boys are stupid, and sometimes they grow into dumb men-- LOL! You continue to keep it real though. There are quite a few men (and people) in general who DO appreciate natural beauty.

I was always teased growing up. Not about my hair but about weight, none the less teased and well maturity and age makes a big difference in people. Boys are slow about maturing but in general people make fun of others insecurities to make them feel better about things that they themselves are insecure about. Stupid really.

Anyways, know the your hair is beautiful as you are too! Own it, Live it, give yourself confidence and let them eat your dust! ^.^
