What is your favorite curl creme?

to the op:
Thank you, thank you, thank you for posting this thread! I was wondering the same thing, but was too shy to start a topic.

To the posters: thank you, thank you for all of your suggestions!
You are very welcome nomilknogluten. I have so...many questions, but like you, I was curious to see what everyone is using for a creme. I am looking at everyones responses, and I know that everyones hair is different, but so far, seems like CJSJ got a lot of votes! I am curious to see more responses.

Low sulphate shampoo once a week:
Elucence Moisture Benefits Shampoo

Rinse Out Conditioner - used only when needed - Elucence Moisture Benefits, & KCKT

Leave-in - used only when needed - KCKT

Co-wash- Elucence Moisture Benefits Conditioner (about 1-2 a week).

Stylers: KCKT, Eco-Styler Gel, AG:Recoil, FSG.

Styling: Raking and smoothing product throughout hair and then the Super Soaker Method without the Denman.
Curls souffle.
I used the "ribboning" method with it and then kerplunked my hair. It's still drying but it's looking very nice so far.

I know it works great if I braid my hair and let it dry with it in. Leaves nice waves that are so, so soft.
Mostly 3B/C with a multiple personality disorder!
CO-Wash: Curlicious Curls Cleansing Cream, Suave, Coconut Sublime
Leave In: My own mix,
Curls Milkshake, Curls Souffle

Stylers: My own mix
-great results with Aussie IF gel
-Curls Goddess Glaze
DT: Lekair Cholesterol, my own mix
Curls Ecstasy Hair Tea

Curls Souffle: Great clumps, soft shiny curls, and a soft-med hold.

Curls Milkshake: I tried plopping with this one too and it really does define when I plop. No hold though. So, it wouldn't survive a windy day or humidity. Great if you just want to lounge around the house and take a break from styling products. Very soft hair, and lots of movement/volume. Love it using it like this as well as under my gel.

My Whole Foods only has the Alba Gel, and not the creme. They are going to order the creme for me. Yay! Can't wait to try it.

I forgot to say I love mixing VO5 CG conditioners with Pantene Ice Shine Mousse.
You can see results in my Fokti (inexspensive album)...that is my hair today.
I am a product junkie but I think I am realizing I get good results with the cheap stuff.
I just tried Hair Rules and hmmmmm....I may have to give it another try....but it didn't feel good in my hair and it didn't last.
But curljunkie is great. I have a few photos with that also in the first album.
I have a darn ULTA store THICK flyer in my hands and all I see is more stuff I want to buy.
I have no self control.

Thanks guys. Oh, I forgot to say that I am also getting a sample of Darcy's Botanicals Gelee sent to me. So, I am pretty excited about trying that. I think I may be turning into a product JK, but guess it is expected since I haven't been on the boards since 2002 and I am newly CG since March of this year. Thanks for all of your suggestions.

  • Jessicurl's CCSS
  • Mop-C Curl Defining Cream
  • Wet Set Pudding (more like a cream IMO) - Curls by Sister's Smith
  • CJ Coco-Creme Lite
Can puddings count as curl creams ....
  • Komaza's Coconut Hair Pudding
  • Going Ohm SHP
And how about those Gelly's ....
  • DM's Miracurl
  • Spiral Solution's Curl Enhancing Jelly
  • Duchess of Curl (or the cheaper equivalent Essential Wholesale's Aloe Jelly)
  • Darcy's Botanicals Natural Coils Curling Jelly
When I first found nc.com and started layering my products, I strictly did a curl cream (after leave-in) and scrunched in a small amount of gel. This past while there have been so many gelly-like products and/or puddings that I've really mixed it up. I use the gellys and puddings the same way I used the creams. It has give me a lot more choices and my hair is loving all of them !!!
Type: 3a fine & dense, with normal porosity, terrible product junkie
ROUTINE: LI, enhancer, gel, plop with Curlease towel, serum product (either CIAB or Gel-les'c), clip & diffuse.
Too many favourite products to list ... I finally have my routine that works and alot of products to choose from. My product stash is huge, but well loved !!!
Currently, CJCCCC lite. Regular CJCCCC is a little much for me but you might like it as a 3B.

I also like Boot's pink curl cream, but you have to order it from BritSuperStore- it isn't available in the US.

I often don't use a curl cream, though, but, rather, something like AOMM, KCCC, SSCEJ, or Got2B Mousse - some other sort of curl enhancer before my gel, but not necessarily a cream.

Thanks so much for all of your responses guys. It seems that Curl Junkie Products are quite popular. I never have tried them, but would love too. I think my hair would really, really love the products. I emailed CJ and asked them if they had any plans to be available in Target, Sephora or Whole Foods stores in the near future. She responsed and said that they didn't think they were "there" yet, but if I wanted to pass the word along. I emailed both Whole Foods and Sephora.

Started a thread about it, but doesn't look like many people are interested. I was a little shocked.
