Growing my hair out *crosses fingers*
Okay, so I'm growing out my hair. I'm a stylist so this is an especially big test of willpower as I have shears at my immediate disposal lol.
FYI, I had a mohawk for 2 years. The sides were anywhere from 1/8-3/4" long depending on my mood, and the hawk was around 4-6" about. Basically, I'm letting it grow out from the original shape, because I don't want to lose my length on top and therefore my loose ringlets that are coming in. Right now the top is at around 7" and the sides are around 2". After a year, it might look like something ;). So I'll be updating a bit on my progress as it goes along, and I might post here in a desperate time when I just want to lop off the whole thing. But I miss my curls so much and I want them back!! So, ok here is where we are starting, November 5, 2006: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...e/IMG_1247.jpg Vanity disclaimers :P: I have no products in my hair today, which is v v rare. Therefore my very fine hair is sort of hanging is random loose curls, except for the tendrils, which are always in ringlets (yay!). And because I'm silly, this was me in one incarnation of my mohawk (rip): http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...e/IMG_1042.jpg Wish me luck! XXOO |

Good luck and keep us posted. I'm trying to grow my hair out as well . It was cut very , very short . Its definitely getting there but I sure have days when I want to chop it all off.

I wish you luck. I've grown my hair out many times. I didn't have a mohawk, but I used to have the bottom part shaved all around and a few times I've had really short hair all over, like a crew cut, and grew it out. It's a pain, but it's worth it. Your hardest challenge will be to sit there and not cut it! I know, I used to work at a hair salon, so getting my head shaved again was a really simple thing. ;) Keep us posted, so we can give you some moral support if you need it.

Yes good luck! I know I am so impatient when I comes to growing out my hair. Especially if it looks yucky in between!
You can do it!!! Kim |
Good luck! I can't wait to read your updates. I absolutely love before/after pictures. Those spirals on the sides of your face are awesome!

One month update!
Ok...the sides are looking a bit fuller. I figured that if they are now 3", and the last time I had them cut to 1/4" was mid July-early August, then I'm averaging the standard 1/2" a month. So at least it's not slower.
So here's my one month pic: http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...e/IMG_1270.jpg And today I was having an "okay" hair day...not limp, but not optimal curl...luckily it gets curlier the more it grows out :) |
