Are you sure that a nickel-size amount of CIAB is enough? I'm using about a puddle of CIAB that is about the size of two quarters and I'm getting good hold and frizz control on its own, even in humid weather. Then again, my hair is thicker and curlier than yours so I require more product. It's about the same length though. First I smooth CIAB through my hair, finger rake it to evenly distribute, and then scrunch in the curls. I like CIAB b/c it really does seem to wash out clean. It's the first styling product I've used that doesn't build up. I'm just amazed that it held up in the Kentucky humidity last week!Last night before bed I used the CJ Daily Fix Cleansing Conditioner as a rinse out then put in about a nickel sized puddle of CIAB. I plopped overnight. After taking the plop out this morning, my hair looks similar to the way it looked yesterday. So it looks like I can forgo the KBB milk as a LI. I still think I need something over the CIAB to help hold my curls. Thanks! I'll try the CJ CIAB alone tomorrow and not brush it through. I do like the clumps I get with brushing but it kills the volume. And if I don't diffuse, I can't get that volume back. :-/You might want to try with two variations:
Don't brush product through hair, just scrunched it into hair.
Don't add the KBB hair milk. See if the CJ products alone will be sufficiently moisturizing.
EDIT: Also, I didn't brush the CIAB through and I still got decent definition/clumps.
Slowly but surely I feel like I'm zeroing in on the perfect combo/routine. Thanks everyone for all your suggestions so far! I don't know what I would do without this community!
