wheat germ oil? Anyone else's hair get build up from this?

When looking at a few conditioners I've tried that my hair only liked for a week or two the common ingredient they all had was wheat germ oil...does anyone else seem to have issues with this? It's as though the condish just sits on my hair without moisturizing, and causes build up.
These are the 3 conditioners I'm referring to:

Lustrasilk shea butter cholesterol
AOHR
Live Green moisturizing conditioner

Any insight? Or anyone else who gets build up from this?

I wouldn't say I get build-up from it, as such, but that it's a love-it-hate-it ingredient on my hair. Most of the time it's just fine, but every now and again I'll use an AO product and my hair will just have a conniption fit - and the only thing in the AO stuff not in my other stuff is the wheat germ oil. I'll get oily really fast that day (and I haven't had oily hair since I was 14!), my hair will feel awful at the root (matted, producty), but bone dry at the ends. I do a lo-poo the day after and generally I'm fine after that.

I do know that wheat germ oil can cause problems for people who are sensitive to protein, and wheat proteins in particular. If you have any general wheat sensitivity that could cause a problem as well.

Thank you! Yes, that's exactly what I get oily, but for me when my hair gets oily it's build up.
I just wanted to know if it was even possible that this was the ingredient I was having problems with, and apparently it is. Thank you I thought maybe I had it wrong since I've never seen anything on here in regards to wheat germ oil.

Technically, any ingredient can cause problems - there's no such thing as an ingredient that always works for everyone or never ever causes problems. I've never seen anything on it here - at least not a full thread - though I do remember reading about it in a random post somewhere.

Out of curiosity, what're your hair properties? I have a theory that wheat germ oil is a bit much in for fine haired people, so I'm curious if you're fine as well.

yeah, I agree.

My hair is actually more coarse, than fine, but I do have naturally red hair, and part of me thinks this might have something to do with my hair hating so many products a lot of people rave about on here.
