Curly hair basics question

Is there is website/blog that outlines curly hair basics? Like these are the things to consider with curly hair (texture/porosity/etc.) and defines other things to consider like humectants vs. antihumectants, protein vs. protein sensitivity. Also ingredients to look for in products such as if you have low porosity for example, you need products with more _____. In terms of ingredients also defines oils, alcohols etc. in light of if you are looking for moisture, you need more or less of this ____. I feel like I'm shooting in the dark when looking for products because I don't know the basics.

Wow, you've been here since 2007 and didn't come across LIVE CURLY LIVE FREE links? Seriously? ; )

http://www.livecurlylivefree.com/cur...r%20basics.htm

Go to that person's blog, too, for more info.

That may not answer all your questions, but it sure is a good place to start for all the basics. I went there my first day on here and it helped a lot. Also might just wanna do forum searches here on particular topics. That's what I do when I'm curious about something. Only after I do a series of forum searches for prior threads on particular issues and find nothing do I then pose a specific question in a specific thread...cause, really, there's so much right HERE. I just mine it like a curly-haired mole (articles and reviews and such).

Yes, this is the site. But if you don't want to have to spend hours upon hours reading posts to answer your questions, you can go to livecurlylivefree.com and buy the ebook for 9.95. All in the info is in one place.

Otherwise, read through her posts here, just search username "struttswife" and that should help quite a bit!

Hair Type - medium to fine texture, high porosity, lots of it, type 2b/3a
I registered with this site in 2007 but I haven't been on the this site the entire time. It's a good site and Live Curly Live Free is too, but neither one seems to have a basic tutorial for a newbie or anyone else. Also I was asking if there was a place where the information is in one place rather than trying to put it together from forum searches. I haven't tried the e-book on the Live Curly site though.

Even if I had, I was asking if there was a place where there is a basic tutorial for a newbie or anyone else rather than spending hours doing forum searches. This site is a good one as well as the Live Curly site. I haven't tried the e-book on the Live Curly site yet.

I think this website has all the info...but not all in one thread...

Here's a very useful thread wowohwow created that includes a lot of curly hair basics and links to useful info.

Here's another thread where people post their hair biographies. Once someone figures out their hair properties they can find a hair twin and see what that person's hair likes/dislikes and includes seasonal changes.

I think it just takes a lot of research, experimenting and patience! HTH!!!
2c/3a, fine, low-med porosity, below BSL, mod CG since 9/09
