New Combo...CJ smoothing gellie/Spiral Solutions Firm Hold Gel

Ok, this might only be working due to the 'shoulder' season weather but it has worked great for over a week. I have been using Curl Junkie Smoothing Gellie in the shower-I run my hair under the water after conditioning right before applying nickel sized amount of the gellie. Then after the shower I apply some Spiral Solutions Firm Hold Gel. I then blot out some water with curlease towel and then apply a bit more of the firm hold gel with a bit of BHRG. Then I scrunch a bit more with the towel and then I diffuse. I get very little crunch, great curls and minimal frizz (although I do not get a lot of frizz under most circumstances). I am shocked as I was unable to get smoothing gellie to work in cooler weather so I am very happy I at least found one season it is working in!

The Smoothing Gellie and SS FHG works very well for me, too! I have a few pics of times I've used those, including this one: http://public.fotki.com/MirCurls/cur.../img-0437.html Here is a super-close-up to show how the products left my hair looking unproducty and pretty and healthy: http://public.fotki.com/MirCurls/cur...439.html#media

I needed a haircut, but the curl formation and touchability was very nice.

i love the smoothing gellie with ss ddt as a leave in. i strongly suspect that cj and ss are good lines to use in combo, both quality products.

As usual, xcptnl, that is a customized routine you've got there (LOL!), but I thought I would chime in because this weekend, I tried out the Spiral Solutions Jelly in combination with the Firm Holding Gel, and I must say that I am liking the combo. So, I don't know if both products are just plain good or if the combo is what's working for me.

I only had a small sample of the CJ Smoothing Gellie and I don't think it was enough to really determine whether it could work for me. (Plus, it seemed a little complicated to use -- I don't like the combing/rewetting thing. I want to apply and be done.) But if you're having luck with it, maybe I should revisit....

Jillipoo I just bring the smoothing gellie in the shower with me and once I am done with rinsing my conditioner out I run my hair under the water and then apply the gellie then. I then do some scrunching/raking in the shower but that is it. I had horrible luck with this gellie in the winter so I am just glad the weather or something is making it work.

I've done this as well except withouth the BRHG. I did like the results but next time I will use the BRHG for that bit of extra hold. I liked it . I will definitely try using the SG in the shower as well next time. This worked nicely for me but something about using the FHG/BRHG with the CEJ combo gives my hair more shine and silkiness. It's good to know the FHG works with a variety of products. Thanks for sharing!

I use my CJSG in the shower too and do my raking and scrunching before I get out. I'm going to try this xcptnl...you had me at "minimal frizz". One quick question, how much BRHG are you using with the FHG?

Good Luck.

Keep in mind though that I typically do not get much frizz. But when I tried the CJSG in the winter I was more frizzy than normal and today, it was cooler, and more fuzzy/frizzy for me. So it appears this product is a warmer weather product for me.
