Default Self-cut inverted bob..with picture

So yesterday night, I had decided to trim about half an inch off my shoulder-lenght hair.
It was kind of stringy and lifeless lately so I was hoping it would give them a boost.

I had been thinking for a while about getting another inverted-bob haircut. It's such an easy way to wear curls in the summer. So I got kind of scissor happy and layer after layer, starting at the nape, more and more hair and inches were falling into my sink. And I loved it! I felt so free!
Now I can go running in the morning and my hair will be so easy to fix and quick to dry.

It will also give me a good start to beggin the low-poo routine again. Very happy!

Thank you! Everytime I had it cut like that, I always wondered why it took so long to decide.

Well being curly is very forgiving! I cut it dry, so I see exactly how each curl will look in the end. They all have their own way to curl, so it's safer that way. And so inexpensive!
Just start with a trim...you'll see, it's easy!

Very cute! good job! I cut my own hair as well . How did you get the back? it looks really good. Also, what technique did you use? Did you cut the curls straight or diagonal?
Love it

Thank you! Your cut looks amazing!
Honestly, I don't use a particular method...I guess I try to cut the curls more diagonally so they look more pointy instead of square at the tips.

I used a mirror to get the back, looking in it everytime I cut a piece to see what needed to be shorter.

I'm pretty sure the whole thing would be pretty uneven and wild if I decided to straighten it. Which will be a good reason not to!

Good for you! I'm a hairdresser and I'm not brave enough to do it myself. LOL....

Hi! I just saw your haircut and I admit that the result is fantastic, amazing, gorgeous!!!
Is there any tip that you can give me please? I thought about trying to cut my curls on my own
Also can you look at my pics here and tell me if you think that an inverted bob would flatter me or not?
Thank you very much in advance

Your hair looks great! I don't think I could ever cut my own hair. Well, maybe I could, but probably not as well as you have. :P

Yay! Another curly self-cut convert! We need a club...
Your hair cut is delightful. I'd be tempted to do the inverted thing if I weren't growing my hair out a bit.

How ironic to log in today and see this thread! I just cut my hair last night too, for the first time. I needed a trim, about 1 1/2 inches off, and I couldn't bring myself to go pay $50 or more for someone to screw it up again... so I decided to to try myself. I cut it dry, and it worked great! All of my damaged ends are gone, and it all hangs nicely, with good movement in the curls. There are no uneven bits sticking out to annoy me. Best of all, it only took me about 20 minutes, and it was FREE! Oh yeah, and I didn't have to shampoo out any of the silicone laden crapola that stylists usually put in my hair, even when I ask them not to
