Sebastian Potion 9
 

I know this has been around for years and I finally tried it. WOW! I ended up with big, soft, chunky curls. Does anyone else use this and have tips to share? This is supposed to be a conditioning gel, but I used a gel on top. Also, the woman at Trade Secret said that you only have to use it once or twice a week, not everyday. TIA for any advice.

I really like it too. I never heard it called a gel, I think it's supposed to be a wearable "treatment." The only reason I can think not to use it everyday is it's quite heavy on the protein. I use it just like any other leave-in under recoil and gel or mousse.

hmmm...I used this long ago and stopped more than 5 years ago or so but I don't know why... I might try it again. The guy who used to cut my hair would say, "Here comes the magic"! before he put it on!

I used this when I colored my hair, it was pretty dang magical. I don't use it now because my hair is healthy and well, I'm out! :lol:

I LOVE THIS STUFF!! My hair looks like crap without it.

I have used it off and on. I never really felt like it made a difference in my style, but after you mentioned it, I tried it again. My hair is really soft today! I'm going to try it a couple more times to see if I will incorporate it into my routine.

sunday, I just have to say that your curls are GORGEOUS!! Wow! I'm amazed to think you were able to improve upon your hair with this stuff when it's already perfect. I'm so jealous!!

I call this stuff "leave in conditioner with oomph"!

I love this stuff! I don't usually use it on wet hair, but smoothing on a little in the morning after I take my hair out of my pineapple is great for taming wildness without flattening out the curls.

I've been hearing about this product alot recently. What exactly does it do? Are all Sebastion products this good?

This is the only Sebastian product I have tried. It's a leave in treatment with a little hold. It gave me really soft and shiny curls without weighing them down.

Any updates on this stuff?

They have it at Target and it's on sale this week for 10% off. I had to make myself put it down and not take it to the check-out counter.

Why do I feel compelled to try new stuff all the time? I'm liking my hair at the moment, yet I keep wanting to try new stuff.

I always have a soft spot for Potion 9 because it was my first curly product. I always thought my hair was straight (but frizzy and poofy) and one day at age 14 my stylist used Potion 9 on me, diffused, and I found out I had curls! Of course I bought some after that.
