hair products from The Body Shop
Anybody used them? I tried the Brazil Nut curl cream and really didn't like it, it made my hair greasy and frizzy and definitely didn't do anything for the curls. I'm kind of curious about the other products though, but they're expensive so I don't want to buy without hearing reviews first!

I actually like the brazil nut cream although i do agree with you that it can get greasy if you use too much of it, i never used it on dry hair always wet and i used to use it with mousse so i got defined curls but without the crunch ( and did use it this summer over Curls spiral cream when my milkshake ran out and i was at Myrtle beach)
I tried the mask and didn't like that, i love the smell of the brazil nut cream but the mask smells different and made my hair really tangly after so once I'd finished using it i never bought it again. the grapeseed glossing serum ( i think it's grapeseed anyway) is ok as far as serums go, and the Amlika leave in conditioner is quite nice too, creamy but not greasy although i don't like the smell too much. However, the Honey shampoo and conditioner i love! I have been using them for about a year now and the conditioner is really moisturizing and seems to make my curls spring back to life. The shampoo took a while to grow on me i was used to shampoo's that lathered up really well this doesn't but once i got used to it i really like it. so on the whole styling products are ok, but you can probably get something better for the price you pay but i would strongly recommend the honey shampoo and conditioner. |
My sister has thick straight hair that she highlights every couple of weeks and washes and flat irons every morning.
You can imagine the state of her hair, but she turned up at mine the other day and her hair looked fab, when I asked her what she had done different she said she'd used body shop products Honey ones. I'm trialling aveda at the mo but if it doesn't work out I'm going to try Body Shop, I have seen travel size bottles which I will use. |
i actually really like the brazil nut pre-shampoo mask. it makes my hair soooo soft! but i have drier hair, so maybe it works better on hair that needs help retaining moisture...?

I have the Brazil Nut Hair Masque & it's quite heavy! I used it after using Aveda Detoxifier Friday & couldn't rinse it out of my hair. Yesterday I shampooed again, but with a daily gentle type (Victoria Secret Garden Sensuous Shine Amber Romance) & quite a bit of the Hair Masque was still there after massaging, combing & rinsing probably the entire length of my shower!

Good to know, thanks! I might try the honey shampoo and conditioner - there's a 20%-off day for Body Shop card people  on Thursday so it'd be a good time to buy.

I loved loved loved the Banana condish. Still have a bottle stashed somewhere.
But don't the new products have cones????? |
I love the honey shampoo!! Makes my hair really soft, and more importantly, my scalp isn't dry at all. (I haven't used the conditioner)
I didn't like the pre-shampoo mask. It smells really really REALLY strong, and the smells lingers in your hair for a while! Also, it made my hair crispy dry. |

I used the honey shampoo and condish, and brazil nut cream before I went CG - there's an album in fotki and my hair was very soft and well defined! BUT the brazil nut cream contains cyclo-hexane, and the honey conditioner gave me a rash on my scalp and cheek :( i must have been allergic to something in it!
i dont think any of their products are CG friendly... |

I wrote them an email asking about this and got some mumbo-jumbo back saying that all their products are not completely natural. |

I just bought the honey shampoo. I'm almost out of my Ouidad poo and won't get my order before I run out so I am going to to try this. I hope I like it.
I also bought some Coconut Oil Hair Shine. It comes in a small tin. It is super windy here today so I had some frizz. I rubbed some on my finger and applied it to the frizzy spots and it worked. I don't follow the CG routine so I don't know if it CG friendly. |
I don't follow CG either so I don't really care either way. I got the honey shampoo and conditioner, I'll try them tomorrow!

Tried the honey poo & condish today, and the Amlika leave-in conditioner. I like it! The conditioner is great and the shampoo seems pretty good too. They're bloody expensive though. I like the feel of the leave-in - I mixed it with a couple drops of olive oil which seemed to work well.
|
I tried the honey shampoo this morning and loved it! I "think" I liked it more than the Ouidad.
I didn't buy the conditioner because I like my leave-in by Ouidad. The Body Shop products cost a lot less than Ouidad. I really liked the shampoo and it is a lot easier going to the mall than ordering online and waiting for my order. |
The Ouidad shampoo I use is on backorder. I hope this one continues to work for me.

Hobbs~
Are you getting good results from the Honey poo & condish? My hair LOVES the shampoo! I've received a couple compliments since I started using it too. I'm so happy you started the thread, I would have never thought to use this. :D |
