I just got my shipment from Catherine of body art quality henna and cassia obovata. I am currently waiting on dye release for 2 mixtures: one of pure henna mixed with lemon juice and hot water, and the other of 1/2 henna 1/2 cassia + hot water + lemon juice. Then I'm going to strand test! I'm also doing a skin test to be sure I'm not allergic. I am SO excited, I plan on doing the actual henna either tomorrow or Saturday so it will oxidize some over the weekend.

Fun hair experiment time!

just in case you dont know after applying henna on your hair it cant be coloured until you grow it out. henna has a bad reaction with colouring chemicals, i learnt the hard way and parts of my hair turned green, anyways good luck with it

I've dyed mine afterwards but it sure can have a reaction with the dye.

Your hair looks fabulous and shiny! Man I miss henna! Lovely color! Did you end up mixing red henna with another color or using straight red?

I ended up using just straight henna. The color has become less orange already, but I'm worried about the fading that many henna users experience after the first two weeks or so after the first coloring. I'll be sure to keep everyone updated.[/img]

I LOVE LOVE LOVE your henna color! It suits you to a "T" I always wished I could do a bold red but that's one color that doesn't work.
