Feel-good thread: Share your latest hair compliment!
I haven't been able to post as much lately due to my new job, but hey it's the weekend and I figured it was a good time for a feel-good hair thread!
Today I did something I almost never do, and that was to wash my hair two days in a row. I did it because even though I washed yesterday, my hair looked like crap the second half of the day, and by the time I got home from the gym it was even worse! So I washed again this morning and decided to go productless (with the exception of the honey rinse). My hair dried in record time and I got 3 compliments from people at work!
Now it's your turn!
eta: doesn't have to be a compliment! maybe your just having a really good hair day!

thats awesome :] I wish my hair could go productless.
My compliment isnt very specific, but I only get compliments from my family which is great because I hear so many stories of dissaproval from family members on here.

To be perfectly honest, I thought my hair was looking rather shabby by the end of the day. It had drooped and wimped out quite a bit. Guess they didn't create gel for nothing. I was definitely loving the quicker drying time though!! The funny thing is, after yesterdays hair flop, I was *this* close to straightening my hair for the first time in over a year, and then when the girls at work told me, my jaw just about dropped.

Funny you should ask this on the day that I went back to my OLD routine before coming back to this site and trying CG again. My hair lost a lot of its curl and bounce with CG and modified CG. My hair was too overconditioned. And I noticed that it's the longest I've gone without getting a hair compliment.
So I washed with shampoo, conditioned, and then rinsed all of the conditioner out and didn't apply a leave in. I just put B&A gel in my hair, and I got two compliments about how great my hair looked even with all of the violent winds outside. It really did look good. Makes me wonder if I should quit using a leave-in.

botticellicurlygirl, now that's a coincidence itself, because the past 3 times I've washed, I've stopped using a leave-in. It's been hard to resist the temptation, but I just don't think I need it right now, after co-washing and then conditioning and honey rinses. Isn't hair crazy?!

I got a trim last night and my hairdresser for the 2nd appointment in a row said how great my curls were looking and this time she wanted to know what exactly I was doing and what products I was using.
That was pretty great!

Earlier this week, I had a co-worker ask me how I got my hair the way it is. He wanted to know if I put it on rollers or something. I told him "no" that it just grew this way. He laughed and told me there was no way it could grow that way. It was "too perfect."

I told my mom I cut my hair myself, and it didn't look bad did it? She said, "It's very curly. I'm surprised because hair often loses its curl as it gets longer and it's getting long."

I finally wore my hair down for school (it's an all girls school so no one gets ready) and I got 7 or 8 compliments throughout the day! Two girls told me that it looked like a prom hairstyle they would have to get done by a professional
I don't have any new pics of my haircut or recent pics at all in my album though. None of them in there have ringlets or naturally dried hair.

My male friend and his new girlfriend and I were going to a show. This was my first time meeting her and she has wavy hair. She was saying she was having a bad hair day. I said "I know bad hair days, believe me". And my friend looked at me with his eyebrows up and said "Please kimmy, like you have ever had a bad hair day. Not in the 12 years I've known you. Your hair is awesome!" Then the new girl said "Your hair is really awesome, it's the first thing I noticed!"
Why thank you, thank you both very much!

I used to get tons of compliments when I was younger. But nothing in the last few years, but then again I don't really get out too much. Then In the last week 3 compliments!!
The first one came from one of my sisters at Thanksgiving. She said my hair looked great and asked what I'd been doing to it. I told her just different products. I didn't want to tell her I spent the entire morning obsessing over it and had about ton of gel in it. My family well they all spend 4 hours in the morning getting ready, and are very quick to point out the slightest flaw. So this was very nice.
Then on Monday, I got one from my son's speech therapist, and the following day I got one from my other son's Develemental Therapist, both saying my hair was gorgeous and how much they wish it was their hair.
So very good week for me!!

I got a couple over Thanksgiving weekend as well. We went to my in-laws, and my husband's aunt, who is a former cosmetologist, complimented my curls as soon as she greeted me (which was nice because I thought I'd been having a bad hair day!)
Then, I was complimenting my sister-in-law's straight hair because it's so sleek and shiny, telling her how I had told my husband that it's hair like hers that makes me want to straighten (once in a while) and she said it's hair like mine that makes her want to get a perm.

I got two compliments earlier this week at the same time. I had my hair pulled back (in a poytail type clip) and they told me how gorgeous my hair looked...like a china doll's. I actually said, "Me?" Here I was thinking how yuck my hair looked. Made me smile though!

My SO & I met a very stylish friend & his BF for drinks after work yesterday. My SO had just had a rather unfortunate haircut that took his gorgeous dark blonde shoulder length artisty looking 2A hair to well...short. And my friend said, "Really, I think I like it." (Cuts his eyes toward me) "Only people with gorgeous curls can pull off really great long hair. It's not for the likes of you 'n me, my friend." Then his BF launched into a technical discussion with me re: products & techniques. It was like being on "Will & Grace."
Last week, a coworker told me I had very 'goddessy' hair. Me: Hmmm? Her: You know -- like the one on the seashell. Me: Boticelli's Venus? Her: Right! Where she has the beautiful spiral ropes of hair draping down around her. Which made me feel good, 'coz the sides had gotten puffy in the snow & I had pinned back small sections.

Today at the hair salon. I had a lengthyish visit since I got a blow-out.
My stylist knows I've been cg'ing and he likes to ask questions about it. I was telling him about the increasing issues I've had with proteins lately, and how pissed I've been about it. It really limits what I can use, especially since I avoid glycerin too. I was telling him about using coconut oil - on its own and mixing with with the cheapie condishes that are protein, cone, and glycerin free.
He told me to keep doing what I'm doing because my scalp looked great and that my hair was in great condition, except for that troublesome nape spot I get, but that hasn't behaved in my whole life. It's not as if I get to see my scalp, so it's good to hear.
