Please help - had to use poo and now my hair looks terrible
 

DH and I went down to visit family over Thanksgiving. I didn't realize until I was in the shower on Thursday that I forgot to bring my no poo and conditioner. I stupidly used the hotel shampoo (it only occurred to me later that I should have just done a water washing). Anyway, now my hair looks terrible. I am back on my regular routine but it's flat and won't hold a curl. I'm a 2b/c and extremely frustrated at this point. Any suggestions?? TIA.

An ACV rinse then DT?

An ACV rinse should 'reset' it and then maybe a DT will replace moisture lost from the shampoo?

And give it time - your hair may be slowly recovering! Hope it pops back soon though!

If you know the name of the shampoo check to see if it had cones. Cones will make my hair go flat and lose curl if I don't sulfate poo it out.
Now maybe that's not the case but it's better to find out than be frustrated by your hair for longer when you could just use a shampoo with no cones and then start your routine over again.

I can't remember the name of the shampoo. But I'm back on my regular cone-free routine and my hair just looks like a mess. Frizz, no curl and barely a wave. It's also flat with no body whatsoever. Feel like shaving it off and starting over, lol.

It could be in shock from the shampoo but I know I accidentally used a cone and my hair was losing curl and not acting right. I was mystified until the conditioner was greasing up on my hair and then I remembered seeing that before and I shampooed with a sulfate poo and then just went back to my routine.
Whew I was so glad to figure that out! I hate that many bad hair days in a row.

Now if I shampoo after not doing it for a while with something harsh I'll get poofier hair but as soon as I DT my hair is back to normal.

Okay, so I think I want to try the ACV rinse and then DT. One problem - what is ACV? Sorry, I should probably know this, but I don't. Also, any recommendations for agood DT? Thanks!

ACV is apple cider vinegar
Curljunie has a nice hibiscus and banana deep fix
Jessicurl has a great DT
Curls has the asian hair tea, that makes a great DT
DevaCurl ONeC with some jojoba oil mixed in does real well too
