Be a hair model for Ouidad in NYC next weekend

I stumbled upon this online and signed up, and I got a call back today. I'm scheduled for a cut with a Ouidad stylist next Saturday!

Ouidad uses hair models to train stylists in their cutting method and they have a training session next weekend in NYC. When I spoke to Nicole on the phone she said that I'll get a consultation, a cut, and probably a deep treatment as well and that I will get a say in what's done to my hair. It's still sort of a risk since I haven't had my hair cut by this method before, but we'll see how it goes! I'm desperate for a cut right now so they should have lots of fun with me.

If you're interested you can fill out this form on the Ouidad site:

http://www.ouidad.com/salon_locator/hair_model_info.asp

I was told that the requirements are that you must be over 18 and have never modeled for Ouidad or had one of their cuts before. Nicole said there are still slots open, but they tend to fill up fast.

(I don't work for Ouidad and this isn't spam. Just wanted to pass along the chance at a free curly cut!)

I actually did this about 2 weeks ago It was amazing! My mom, my sister, and me all went together. They give you a consultation, a deep treatment, a cut, and once they're done they go over all the products they used in your hair. I absolutely love the cut they gave me! I kept the length but they gave it this really nice shape. That weekend I got so many compliments about my hair. They worked miracle with my sisters hair. No matter how hard I try, she doesnt take my advice on how to care for it but when the cut was over I had serious curl envy lol. I didnt take any before and after pics but I have a picture from when I went out that weekend.

Thats me on the left.

This is about 3 weeks before the cut. Excuse the face lol. I was making faces at my mom

They cut my canopy layers shorter becasue they were hanging over my tighter curls in the back. Now my hair looks more uniform in curl pattern
Trying CG for the 2nd time. Been going strong since Feb 2010. Wish me luck!

3C/3B- still trying to figure out porosity (normal to low?) and all that other stuff. My hair seems to like protein.

It's a little odd, but I asked why and they said that they have to work on different types of curls than they already worked on when the last models were there. My stylist was from Vermont and she was very sweet and did a good job.

Have fun and good luck!

I just signed up for august/september. I'm so excited after seeing the pictures. Your hair looks great! A quality cut and salon experience for $0.00, works for me
Last relaxer 1/2007, last blow out 9/2009
Hair type: 3B/3A - Mostly 3B. Nice medium length spirals.
Problems: Dry (back of crown), trouble getting the very front of crown to curl nicely, Deva products are pricey, need alternatives!
Deva No Poo (1-2x/wk)
One Conditioner (co wash, styler)
Heaven in Hair (styler, deep condition)
B-Leave In (on super humid days)

I noticed in your signature you mentioned that you use DevaCurl products. I also use some of them - I really like the leave-in and the Set It Free spray to reduce frizz and refresh waves. I used to use the low-poo, too. Right now I use Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition conditioner, and I love it. Have you ever tried that? It is creamy, but not too heavy, and it smells fabulous!! I could smell it all day.

Do you like the Heaven in Hair? I've used it a few times, and it seems to actually make my hair dry. It doesn't seem to help at all, and it was really expensive. Ugh....

How COOL!! A few years back, I applied for a model haircut and got a call back. But, whatever was going on in my life at the time (I have a 5 yr. old) kept me from calling them back. I should jump on the bandwagon NOW though!
