What is this and how do you do it and how often?

Conditioner-washing. Some of us don't use shampoo at all, so we use conditioner to scrub the scalp. Along with this, we avoid products with ingredients that tend to build up, like silicones and waxes that need to be removed with shampoo. Co-washing could be done daily or less often, depends on your particular hair. These are the basics of what we refer to as the Curly Girl (or CG) routine, from the Curly Girl book by Lorraine Massey.
