My curls look fantastic, and I feel proud.
This is the first time in my life I have truly embraced my curls, and I feel proud and fantastic. I am Irish-Red Curly and feel I am embracing my heritage and whom I am as a person.
I have followed the "Curly Girl" wisdom, of the book. I no longer use any shampoo and put in water soluable gels everday and my curls look great, and shiny. I feel like a new woman.
This has been a rough year for me emotionally, and not only did I embrace my curls I have lost almost 60 lbs., I am ready to be the real me and it feels great. I just wanted to share.

Yea for you! I'm so glad this is working out for you
I have been loving my curls sooo much lately. On Sunday I had lots of time before I had to work, so I took my time with my hair; plopped for an hour, added a tad bit more gel, diffused for a bit, then clipped my roots up a bit for more volume, then let it finish air-drying. All in all it took 3 hours start to finish (in between time I was doing dishes, laundry etc) Wow, I think it was my best hair day ever. Too bad I couldn't get a photo. Maybe next time

Thanks Everyone
I appreciate all your feedback. It just feels good to no longer hide who I am, hide behind food, inactivity, or straight irons. I am who I am and I now love myself. Yippeeee!!
In Boston- Next time have a camera ready. Good for you.

Congratulations, for embracing your curls and giving CG a go and maybe more so for losing weight when faced with challenges, it's tough enough all by itself so you've good reason to be proud, sounds like you've embarked in a path of growth and doing pretty well. My best wishes for 2007!

Thank you all for your well wishes.
Parci- I began in the beginning of November.
Kim- I am so glad.
Halfway, Redceltic, and Ladycurly- Thanks a million. I just feel great. I love who I am, and how cool is that? I do not let any outside validation tell me whom I should, or should not be. My ancestors did not straighten their hair, why should I?
