My preschoolers touch my hair all the time. I don't mind it from them. One today (who has really wavy hair) said "Look we both have curly hair, but mine isn't in circles like yours" -too cute!

Don't kids just LOVE to grab curls? Maybe it's because they can get a better grip on them than on straight hair. I've yet to meet a baby or toddler who doesn't want a handful.

I used to like people touching my hair, now its just annoying! Random people come up to me in the hallway and start touching my hair. Don't they know that the curls are attatched to my head?! I am a human, not a curly headed doll. What is the big deal about curly hair that everyone has to freak out and say, "OH MY GOSH, YOUR HAIR IS CURLY!" and then start playing with it?

About the pregnant belly thing: Don't they know a human is inside?! I would wear a DO NOT DISTURB sign on my stomach!

What is it with some people and unsolicited touching? I would never reach out and fondle someone's hair with out asking first. The pregnant-belly-touching thing grosses me out. I've never been pregnant, but I would freak if a stranger patted any part of my body.

And Medusa, I have a chihuahua too. She's really fear aggressive. I spend most of the time I'm out with her making sure she doesn't bite anyone or get into fights with other dogs, yet people still swoop in for that pat on the head. It happened today at the pet store, by an actual employee. You'd think someone who works in a pet store would know better than to pet a strange dog, especially a chihuahua. Then after she growls at someone they invariably say "those little dogs, they're are all mean!" Oh yeah? Then why are you surprised she tried to bite your finger off? And then they always look offended, like it's their God given right to pet any strange animal they might come across.

I think if someone messes with my curls, I'm gonna take a lesson from my Lulu and give them a nip they'll never forget!

Isn't that sweet? I have a little dark haired Shirley Temple look-a-like in my preschool class. Today she said, in her darling little voice, "Mrs. KurlyKae has curly hair, just like Meeee!" I take that as the highest compliment as I can only dream of curls like hers!

For some strange reason, waitresses always touch and make comments about my hair. Even my husband said something last time it happened like, "I hope she washes her hands before she serves anyone else. I know what goes in that hair." Another thing that''s annoying is when someone touches your hair and then are genuinely surprised that it is soft.

I don't mind when people gently touch my hair. I don't even really mind when a stranger does it if they're polite enough to talk to me and ask about it after.
A few weeks ago a friend of mine was kind of touching my hair a bit and everything was fine until she started to RAKE her fingers through it! Instantly I pulled away and started yelling "Nonononono! Don't do that, it's bad for my curls!" She looked at me like I was a crazy person, but I'm pretty sure that got the message across!
And if I were pregnant I would FREAK if a stranger patted my belly.

Alex...He touches my hair and says I have an afro...I just laugh at him though.

edit: he is a guy pal. The sort that have to respect for personal space.

My granddaughter is always playing with my hair. I don't mind at all. One day my grandson started messing with it. He is 3. He said he was trying to fix it. I asked him if it looked better and he said, "No." I don't mind strangers touching it. I feel it is a compliment, but I also didn't mind people touching my pregnant belly.
