Curly on top, straight on bottom

I'm new to this curly world, I use to just straighten my hair because it was so difficult. I'm now going to embrace them, I have 2c hair and some cork screw ones too, but underneath my hair is pin straight not even wavy. I am getting my first curly cut in two weeks at AK hair studios in oyster bay with Jen. I just wanted to know what can I do to fix this issue. Thanks oh and I'm only 15.
Oh wow! I'm clueless as mine is exactly the opposite. Pin straight on top and spirals underneath.
I would think that if you had been straightening your hair, that you may have done some heat damage.

But all is not lost! If your hair has curly coming out the top, then it is probably the healthy hair growing in.

Your stylist should be able to give you suggestions on how to fix it.

Me too! The under layer of my hair is nearly straight. But The top will get ringlet curls. For me it is just how my hair grows, I never straighten it.

I usually have the hair stylist cut the under layer shorter that the rest so it doesn't stick out as much. My hair is just below my shoulders. If it is really bugging me, I curl it with the curling iron.

Using FIA: 2b/2a mix with a few ringlets in the canopy, straighter in the under layer by my neck. Thin in density, fine strands. Normal porosity. Hennaed.

thanks for the advice but will it look wierd that the under layer of hair is shorter than the top?

My hair is at my shoulders, so for me it is fine, its probably only 1/2" shorter. The top layers conceal it.

If I am trying for a super curly look I will curl it with an iron. Otherwise I often make the top more wavy so it blends in better.
