Default proteins in CJ banana and hib. leave in :(

so i've tried my CJ banana and hibicus leave in (fine) conditioner twice now and i think the proteins are too much for my hair. i had an image in my mind of a head full of soft, bouncy ringlets as that's what so many report, and i thought a smalla mount of protein might be ok. and whilst my hair isnt as dry as some proteins make it, i have quite a lot of frizz on the curls which i think is the protein.

i might try it once more before asking anyone if they want to swap. i just wanted it to work so badly!

Make sure you don't use lots of this as it can do some funny stuff in too large an amount.
I'm sorry it's not working for you. My hair doens't like some proteins but this does beautifully in my hair. Face it, you must already have the perfect combo for your hair because when you use your old faithfuls your hair looks it's best!

i was using the smallest amount possible - two fingertip sizes. one on either side of my head. i am just on the quest for a holy grail and i tried arc angell again today - i used more but now my hair just feels ever--so-slightly greasy and producty.

darnit! maybe you're right and i should stick to what i know. i was just so excited about trying products from america that i never get the chance to normally.

Jenny you have gorgeous hair.
Hope the product works(just cause you bought it and then wouldn't have to go thru the hassle of the swap) but I really don't think it matters what you use because your hair looks great in all your photos!!!

I got the whole kit and kaboodle of Devacurl stuff and I am struggling with it.
I don't like the feeling of the Devacurl gel and the smell of the mister spray kills me!! I am going to give it another try again to today.
I hate getting new stuff and not getting the results.

I have this & I love it...
but I can only use it once a week because of the proteins

I have to admit, the smell is the main reason I keep using it,
& the cost to get it to Norway...

Why dont you try once a week?
Be sure that the other products you use are proteinfree.

good plan esme i'll try alternating it with my protein-free cream styler. maybe it was the combination with arc angell that didnt work? the results arent awful they're just not as good as i expected.

and thanks for the comment curlylew i'm not much impressed with deva either. the smell of angell is ok, arc angell is far too sickly sweet for me, and the SIF is a bit candy-like as well. SIF seems to do nothing for my hair except make it feel a bit producty if i use too much. i've tried it for second day hair to get rid of frizz and whilst it didnt give any more frizz it didnt get rid of frizz either.

oh dear maybe i am best sticking with UK products

Jenny I think you are on to something. ArcAngel only works for me when I use Deva stuff with it. And when I use only Deva products, I love my hair. I used Boots under it yesterday - big mistake. Doesn't work for me with GF leave in either. I think it's just too much conditioning HTH

thanks boston waves it does i used arcangell the other day with a different cream styler that wasnt deva and had better results but still not great. grrr how annoying. i find arc angell ok to use as a second day styler so i might save it for that.

so its back to my old combo again

Jenny,

I thought the CJ leave in was causing a little dryness in my hair too but now I alternate it with other things or use it as a rinse out and love it. You might consider that,
