Default A big chop!

I went in for a haircut thinking i'd just have 2 or maybe 3 inches cut off or just "shaped" a little. The last stylist cut it uneven and it looked terrible! This stylist talked me into 6" cut off. I was really sick of my hair and was in the "it's just hair, it will grow back" state of mind. I think it looks nice, but I miss the length. It does seem to curl better now and it's much lighter...but...now I don't have long hair, and i'm just "normal."

That's all, I just felt like sharing. My hair hasn't been this short forever!

Pictures are in my fotki.

Wow your hairs long! I think I like the new length better, although your curls looked better before. Very pretty!

Thanks.

I'm happy I finally ended up with a cut that looks half way decent!

Dude I thought your hair was going to be like chin length! It's still way long!
It's nice and even now too, it looks great!

Thanks medusahair. Ok, so it's not *that* short, just shorter than i've had it for a long time.

I know just how you feel. I went for some long layers in July and ended up with a foot taken off in some parts I like the cut but still miss the length. Your cut looks great the shape is sooo nice and the length seems very flattering too.

The curls are always awesome. But, the hair shapre in the back is more evened out now, and you also have more waist definition since we can see it better now.

Yeah, who cares about my hair, I finally have a waist! Now I know what people mean when they talk about looooong hair being "unflattering."

SYB- Thanks!

Wow, you are so not "normal." Your hair is still really long, and I love it! I wish I could get mine anywhere near that length. I can't believe how it still curls at that length. So jealous!

LOL! Really, it's nicely shaped. If my waist were that nice, I'd be showing it of all the time!

Zoe
My hair was belly button length at the time of the big chop I just about died when I looked down at the floor and saw those huge footlong chunks of hair cut off the sides... considering she had said 3-4 inches off at the shortest layer :^(
The sad part is it wasnt even done well and it was more of a triangle shape at the back almost like a little rat tail right in the middle and a VERY wispy layer underneath that just looked scraggly UGH. Now I will be growing out my bad layers for a few years! A good friend of mine has been grabbing the scissors and slowly fixing up the back to even it up she hacked off the rat tail as soon as she saw it for the first time LOL. On the brightside I will save lots of $ on haircuts...I hadnt had a salon cut in 2 years before the incident...now I remember why LOL

That's exactly what I was thinking! Zoe, I love your haircut! Now tell us, what's your secret to getting it so long?

Hi there,

Popping in after a loooong break from being online. Your hair looks great. Big chops are scary! I had over a foot cut off of my hair in June and it made me very sad... but yours looks awesome. I've been giving some serious thought to going seriously short again, but I'm not sure if I have the guts!

Your curls are beautiful!
