Default Re:coil and anything similiar?

I want to try Re:coil for the curl activating purposes but don't really want to spend $16 on a hair product.. I'm a broke student! Is there anything similiar at Walgreens/Walmart?

I don't know of anything like recoil, it's the only curl creme that I truly love.
I do like Garnier fructis soft curl cream but still it doesn't do exactly the same thing. It makes the curls clump big and loopier. I think the salt in recoil is what my hair loves.

Now You can make up your own salt based curl enhancer. If you look on the recipe boards they have some. I've used just epson salt in water to spray on my hair before I put other products in and it works pretty well, but if you pair it with something for clumping, a leave in conditioner lets say, that ought to work for clumping.
Low porosity, medium texture.

If it smells good put it in your hair, if it tastes good spit it out!
