Default Techniques

Thanks for putting all this info in one place. I think there is a learning curve with curly hair. So many new products have come out and each curly is different. Time-wise, I am baffled by the amount of time people will spend doing various twists to produce certain kinds of curls. We used to use juice cans in the 60's to get the straight locks. I wear my hair natural so that I don't HAVE to put the time into my hair as I would if I relaxed or straightened it. I just don't have that kind of time and my hair is healthy as a result. I do use henna and indigo, but do it overnight. Root touching has gotten to be a fairly speedy task, too. I love my 3B/C spiral curls, and always have, (I got my niece, who is also bi-racial, to love hers, too) but honey, I won't be spending more than 10 minutes on this hair unless I get invited to the Oscars!

Omg I tried the super soaker method for the first time this morning and I LOVE it! It gave me clumps and my hair looked curly at first (my hair has barely there waves). The only issue is my hair has no volume. It is very flat on top so I might need to diffuse my roots upside down. Any tips 2a/2b gals? Amazing method though! I did my plop for 20 min also instead of 10.

There's another round-up of links by QUIRKY YOGINI in the sticky: CurlTalk - View Single Post - Useful Curly Links

Note: I'll add more links bit by bit. If there's a classic thread on a technique or a popular new one you think should be added to this thread discussion, please post the link--without a lot of discussion so people can use this as a links list, not a discussion thread. Please SKIM/READ LIST before offering a link so there is no redundancy. Please only offer links to threads on Curltalk--or very pertinent articles on NC that I will consider, but I prefer to keep it to "buried threads" that will be of use. This isn't an "any and all links". This is for TECHNIQUE threads in Curltalk's forum that have very useful info and have had plenty of discussion/traffic/tips/confirmations of usefulness! THANKS.

PS: If you think this thread list is helpful enough to warrant a sticky, please PM the moderators to request this. THANKS.

Hello Lady!!

I'm newbie e I'm kinda cofused about some things.
I would like you to help me by clarifying my doubts, please.

A week ago I started my new routine: No poo. My hair is 2c and has straightening in length.

Well, I'll talk a little bit like I'm taking care of my hair, and I'd like you to point out my flaws, if any.

I did co-wash 3x a week, but then I read that the hair depends on the need, so now I'm washing 1x a week.

Use products free of silicone and sulfates.
Sometimes, mix mango butter and shea butter along with the mask HIH (Deva). And as in leave use macadamia oil.

I comb my hair when it is wet as well, and sometimes combing well with it dry (it gets filled when I do that, irritated, so to speak)
