Thanks for posting this! I was heading over to do the same!

Your comment about girls being back in school made me wonder -- do you think the "bow" design of the Flexi-8 is too young looking for adults?

My teenage DS made a comment like that to me recently. He wasn't trying to snarky, just made me wonder about them possibly looking too "young" in graying hair. That said, I own 9 of them.

Here's one I'm considering. Need a reality check; please be honest. Is there just "too much stuff" on this one? I use a small size for ponytails and to hold my twist/rolls.

Nah, not too young looking.

I sell the Lillarose here at the downtown market (the Flexi-8 direct sales program) and they sell to young and old, and all colors and hair types. Seem to look good in all of them. Almost all women though, not men. They do not seem to make many styles that a man could rock.

I do like the simpler styles better for myself, but that's not a young/old thing.

Shoulder-Length now.

Wash: DevaCare Low Poo
Detangle & Rinseout: Walgreens or Sally's Conditioning Balm (always)
Leave-in: DevaCare OneC (budget choice is GFTN)
Style: ReCoil & DevaCare Arc Angel (budget choices are HESMU or Got2BSpikedUp)

Henna!
I really like this one too -- it's more basic and I know I would not think twice about wearing it with everything. I found over the years that if the "color" involved in the Flexi-8 was not black, I didn't wear it after buying it. I only own all silver or silver/black ones now.

Because I'm 50, I have only the simpler designs in the more subdued tones. I just don't think I could carry off the frillier/fairy/etc ones.

Now, it depends on attitude and wardrobe. I don't dress frilly or superfeminine or Ren Faire. I dress pretty much easy care and casual for the hot weather we get most year-round and I rarely have a dress up occasion. I'd wear the frillier ones to a Ren Faire or if I were gonna do some Cosplay or go to a hippie fest. But day to day, I stick to the silver or antique gold tone simple designs. I think the curvy design suits curly hair better than straight barettes/pins/clips. It is in sync with the curve of curly/wavy hair.

And I think the frilly ones are to die for on little girls. Adorable.

I think at my age, the fanciful ones just are too much of a contrast with my grays/aging skin. It's like when a 60 year old crinkly woman is wearing hot pants and fuschia lipstick. Well, to a lesser extent..a mismatch.

I know some gals of our mature age, heh heh, who have a very romantic flair about them and dress super feminine and with curly hair and that personal style, I can see that working beautifully. I think that's a really cute design. And it's not multi-colored, so the complexity is in the pattern. The pattern (the spirals in the center in particular) echo spiral curls, and that is a nice echo.

But whether it will suit you? Well, what's your personal style? I think yes. I like it enough that I'm tempted myself. I don't have that one. heh. In the small, seems to me yes. I don't know if it was a big one (unless one had a ton of hair, which I sadly do NOT.)

nooo, I definitely do not have a lot of hair. I can use the XS for a half-up or to securely hold a pony. The S I can use for a looser holding pony (usually on clean hair) or for my logroll/twist updos.

I have one L that I use over a bun, but it's verrry loose.

I may end up getting that crazy "fun" one. Just because it's different from my other ones.

I love the Flexi-8s are travel-friendly (you don't have to worry about them getting dented or bent out of shape) and they can be used in wet or dry hair.

I have a pathetic amount of hair (looks deceptively more than it is if you put your hand in and make a ponytail. I've had people do that to prove I have thinning/fine hair. they THINK I've got a lot of hair cause of the way I diffuse and the volumizing products I sometimes use. But when they stick a hand on it and grasp it, it's almost like evanescent smoke that just "disappears" to the touch. Then they go, "Oh, yeah, you don't have much hair." ha. I know. Dang.)

So, I use extra small and small...I don't have enough hair for the other sizes.
