AG Foam or CIAB??

I'm trying to decide which would be the best for me & hoping for a little guidance and\or your experiences with the products. For money reasons I didn't want to buy both right now.

I have fine, porous hair which loves protein. It's about to my bra strap w\layers. I currently use a no poo every couple days (no water in between those days), with a RO, then CCCClite as a LI with HESMU sprayed ontop. That's my routine every 2nd or 3rd day.

I love CJ, so I originally was going to buy CIAB, then one of the site administrators advised me on AG Foam for my hair type (I had asked her advice)....
What is it that you want the product to do? I don't find that AG FOAM and CIAB are at all comparable in terms of end result.

You may want to do a forum search for each product and see what folks are saying (folks with your hair type).

A mousse is not comparable to a liquid/serum type curl product. You won't get volume from CIAB, but you will get some flexibility in how to use it (it can be used as styler or serum or refresher). AG Foam is a nice product if you want volume and a light feeling. I get shine from CIAB, I get some dullness from foam. I and a few others have reported itchiness from CIAB, so check to see if you're sensitive to anything in there.

The question to ask before you buy either is WHAT DO YOU WANT IT TO DO? What end result?

If you have fine hair and you like volume, then you really need to look through the offerings in the AG line. I love what the combo of Fast food and Recoil does for me (with a medium gel on top). Best hair days I've had this year (both summer and spring, hot and humid).

But if you don't mind "mousse texture" hair, then yes, AG Foam is a good choice. Not everyone likes "mousse hair".

But if I was going to recommend a product, I'd recommend Re:coil. Stuff's da bomb with a leave-in under (I jsut use their Fast Food) and medium gel on top . The AG line has protein, and my hair likes protein. If you're strictly CG, Recoil works for you (not the poo, condish, LI). If you can splurge on both the Foam and REcoil to try both, I'd highly recommend it. I like to use Recoil with some gel on crown roots or AG Foam on roots to lift them.

But if you can ONLY buy one....well....again...depends on what hole there is in your routine and what result you want. Up to you...

I ask because I get such great results using this as a base under anything (it's my LI), but not sure about recoil. I would prefer a gel as to a mousse, so maybe recoil is a better option for me, but that sounds like an 'activator', so not a gel either. I'm willing to give both a try, but may just buy one at a time....

My hair just loves protein. I was reminded of how much last night.

I took one of my protein treatments & let it sit on my hair prior to my no poo\sulfite wash, then did a protein rinse out & my hair just 'SPRUNG'. Unbelievable. I don't even need extra condish when I load on the protein. Love it
