I'm very sorry to hear what happened to you, that's a pretty horrible experience. However, there's no way the real Jessicurl product would've smelled like 'sour coconut', so you either got a very old product or (more likely) something else in that bottle. Any chance you could get your money back?
If you EVER again have a tangling problem like that caused by a CO, just get the juice of one lemon or lime and pour it on your hair and the gunk should come right off. When I started CG I had that problem with a Suave CO, it wouldn't detangle and the more I added the gummier and more tangled my hair got, but I saved my hair from damage by literally getting out of the bathtub to go squeeze some lime juice in the kitchen which I worked straight through into the mess in my head.
