Default Is this shampoo strong enough to clarify?

Hi everybody,
I'm new, but I have been lurking around for a while and have read Curly Girl. It has changed the whole way I treat my hair. I started CG in the middle of October. For a while, my hair looked terrible, and I almost gave up. Finally around Thanksgiving things started to look better, but after a week or so, it got progressively worse. The absolute low came when I tried GF curl and shine leave in. My hair turned into a huge frizz ball.

I realized that I never used a clarifying shampoo when I started, thinking that normal sulfate poos would be enough. Since then, I accidentally used a few products with cones in them. Thus, I think the frizz came from build up. Reluctantly I grabbed my mom's Suave clarifying shampoo and lathered up. I hated to do it, but knew I had to. Unfortunately this morning I was informed that mom had filled the bottle with some old Tresemme Deep Cleaning Shampoo. Here's the ingredient list.

Water, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Chloride, Soyamide DEA, Cocotrimonium Chloride, Ergocalciferol (Vitamin D2), Corn Oil, Disodium EDTA, DMDM Hydantoin, Fragrance, D&C Green NO. 5

Is this strong enough to strip away the cones, or am I going to have to use the real Suave Clarifying Shampoo. I hate to put my hair through pooing again, but will if necessary. Is there a deep treatment I can use to help replace the moisture? Thanks for your help.

Any shampoo with SLS, or ALS will clarify.

Currently: Trying to stop straightening so much. Using Elucence conditioner and whatever works for me.

Thanks, that's a relief. Wasn't sure if I had to use an actual "clarifying" shampoo to get out cones. I'll be sure to check the ingredient list of my products more closely next time.
