finding little knots
For awhile I was only finger combing my conditioner in but I was having some bad tangle issues a little while ago so I started using a comb again. It's a comb we bought when my DH had long hair. I think the teeth are to wide for me because it described itself as "ideal for thick hair". So within the last week I've found 3 knots in my hair. Just a teeny, tiny knot in a single strand. It's to small for me to try and un-knot so I end up just cutting the hair strand right before the knot. Has anyone experienced this? It's disturbing! I meant to only finger comb today but I remembered to late and what happened? Found a knot. :x

This is happening to me also :( and I can't possible use more conditioner for detangling. Maybe i'm not using a good enough detangling conditioner?

Same thing's happening to me - I think it's because I need a trim - it's been 7 months since my last one. And I don't really notice majorly bad tangles that often, just once in a while.

This happens to me when I need a trim. I usually cut them until I can get myself to the hairdresser.

I don't know why its happening to me then :? I just got a trim 2 weeks ago. Maybe it'll get better when I use a better conditioner?
|
I just had a trim as well. :? I'm glad to hear I'm not alone in this though! I guess I'll just go back to fingercombing and see if that helps. My tangles haven't been bad lately so maybe I only need to use a comb every once and awhile.

This is the time of year when a lot of curlies may notice sudden tangling, that's due to dry air which sucks moisture out of our hair. It's a good idea to just cut off the knot as this will cause damage to the hair. I've found that the most detangling COs usually contain cetrimonium chloride in the first 3 ingredients, it's also helpful if they contain a nourishing oil such as jojoba or avocado to keep the hair soft.

I just looked at the rinse out conditioners in my shower and the only one that had that ingredient in the top 3 was Suave M&H with Regis OO as a close second. I just thought that was kind of funny...

I get those little knots every once in a while. It doesn't seem to be related to anything I do or the weather, I'll just notice one here and there. I figured it was just one of the perils of having super fine hair. It's good to know I'm not the only one this happens to.
