Move from 3C TO 3B

Any ideas on curl looseners that can move me from a 3C to a 3B?

Curls products can do that. The Souffle & Whipped Cream give lots of 'weight' to your hair & lengthen the curl a bit. Phyto Relaxing Balm is really great for this too, gives a very silky texture, and loosens curl over time -- unfortunately it's very, very spendy.

Thanks for the tip!

I have reached the point that I am ready to pay a big buck if it yields the desired result.

I'll trade you my 3b hair for your 3c! :D We'll both get what we want that way. I had 3c hair until I grew it out longer, so you could always do that to get to 3b. Or, curls milkshake would also work.

Wow everyone has good stuff to say about curls.

So far i have been advised to use the milkshake, souffle and whipped cream..... i think thats what its called lol.

So I am gonna try it..... my hair takes ages to grow!

I just ordered mixed chicks leave in conditioner..... so we'll see.

I promise to write a review on the product.

Thanks Zoe

Ow by the way just curious has anyone used Naturalaxer?

I hear its amazing for loosening curls and also keeps hair pressed longer.

I love my curls...... but I am itching for a new look on my birthday (Jan 8).

I am thinking of getting a nice hair cut... something like a layered bob.

And i heard if you use naturalaxer..... its loosens ur curls, but when u blow dry it becomes staright.

That would be so perfect for my hair cut.

But I am scared scared scared to try it!!!! Because regular relaxers just ruin my hair.

Eh it's a bunch of crap I tried it. Takes FOREVER and a frickin day to wash it out and man I just couldn't deal with doing that more than once. It left a HUGE MESS! So after I was done spening lord knows how long rinsing it from my hair, now I have a bunch of crap to clean from the shower... But if you have a huge amount of patience go for it.

I am not African-American, or mixed. But me, in my oh-so-great curl philosophy thought it was just great to try every relaxing product out there. It never worked. Always made my hair a big greasy mess, but dried out, looking fried and not knowing whether it was straight or curly. Oh, I have had bad experiences. I once had my hair relaxed professionally as the demo model (you know...free hairstyle.) I did not get any type of straightness, just more dry curly and confused hair. From my experience I say stay natural. Boy, I had every product possible every relaxer shampoo, then the heat gel to put on hair, blah blah blah. It was a hair nightmare, and that is just my opinion, but I will tell ya I have some crazy big curly hair. I learned now to just work with what I have. I threw all my straightening products out, incl. a straightening iron that cost over $100. So not worth it, too much trouble. I have extremely thick, red, curly corkscrews and lots of it. Good luck. I just had to share, LOL.

Curls Milkshake gives my hair a little bit more loosening than Curls Whipped Cream does. Before I use either product, I always make sure to prep my hair with Curls Quenched, just so that I can get the best results, though. I have also used Mixed Chick's Leave-In, and I can personally tell you that that it wasn't as moisturized as I had thought it would be. It lightly moisturized my hair at best, and it also left a coated feeling to my curls that I couldn't put up with. Also its smell is a bit over-the-top, and I found myself not being able to realy tolerate it.

I have used a natural relaxer before to get some loosening to my hair, called Baka Natural-Laxer. It loosened my hair very very mildly in certain places, but not over my whole head. It also caused major dryness, and it did cause temporary hair loss. I since found out that even though a product is all natural, doesn't mean that it is 100 percent safe.

There's a new product line to NC called Naani's Naturals that you could give a try too. I recently ordered their Maximum Definition Hairdress because it is highly moisturizing, and it is touted as being an all-in-one product. I have yet to use it, but already it sounds like a winner to me!
