Curly bob/bob-like hair cut? Anyone?
I was wondering if any of you have a curly bob or bob-like hair cut...I am also interested in those who have a longer bob shorter than shoulder length but longer than chin length. I am considering cutting my hair shorter, as to cut off the dye parts slowly, but am not sure it would look right with my hair..Any 2b - 3b's with bobbish haircuts? Pictures are a plus!!!

Very beautiful! I think we have very similar hair, and color...It's beautiful the way it is now,,,very long...making me start to rethink! Just I like the last two pictures you sent me...the first was cute but too short for me...

Thanks. I looked at your hair after I posted and I thought we had similar hair too!
Why do you want to cut it off? Is your hair really damaged from coloring? I'm asking because the bottom half of my hair is fried from highlights, color, colorfix, etc, and the top is natural virgin growth. Instead of getting a big chop the last time I got a hair cut, I got a dark brown glaze. It blended the bottom dyed part into the natural brown of my hair enough for me to not have to cut off six inches at once. I was very pleased with the results.
This is the before and after:

It's not all that damaged - in fact it's in VERY good condition for hair that's been processed so much. I just don't want to keep dying my roots. How does this glaze thing work?

Mine is in a bob right now, shorter than I'd like (I had it like this before though) but in another month or two I'll catch up, I put up recent pics during the weekend so you can see for yourself.
spacegirl:
Your hair is also curling much better! It looks beautiful.

Mine is cut in an angled bob. Shorter in the back, longer in the front. Mine is probably shorter than you want to go as my longest pieces just come to my chin. It progressively goes shorter as you move to the back so it makes this great looking angle up the side. Best haircut I ever did.

The glaze is a semi-permanant color that only deposits color, it doesn't lighten your hair. It adds a glossy shine as well. The stylist who did my hair mixed three colors together to find a shade that would cancel out the red in the dyed part my hair. Then she applied it to my hair and sat me under a heater for a little while. The color came out a little darker than I wanted, but it looked good and lasted a long time. I'm getting my hair cut after Christmas and I think I might call back and schedule another glaze.

Wow, spacegirl, you do have beautiful hair. I really like that After pic (curlier) and the one in your album that you call Perfect hair-- it is! It's giving me inspiration to keep growing a bit.

Well, a lot of those summer pictures were taken before I left the house. I have a tendancy to really frizz up in the summer and I have so much volume I end up putting my hair up most of the time anyway. It's too hot! The other half of the time I gel my hair down into two braids.
I have two routines. One gives more curls by rinsing upside down, scrunching upside down, using clips on the roots and then air drying (the typical Devachan styling). The other routine gives more flattened curls, by rinsing rightside up, then combing products in with a widetooth comb and air drying.
I'm cg (mostly) and I use a variety of products, but my faves right now are Nexxus Phyto-Organics Nectaress Conditioner, and Pink Boots mixed with Curl Keeper.

i love my hair in a bob. i'm growing it out from a chin length inverted cut (shorter in the back graduated to longer in the front, in an angle as the poster above described).
right now it still has that same shape, but the front is almost shoulder length.
i absolutely love this cut. nothing has ever been easier to take care of or looked as good on me. it's me 'default' cut, and the one i always come back to.
edit: i'll add some pics of my bob cuts to my yahoo albums.

Hi Mayim, I love that bob on you. I think I will try to get one like that too since it looks easy to take care of. You look great with that cut.

I have a bob like haircut (pics are in my fotki). I have it cut so it is shorter in the front and layered all over.

I just got my hair cut into a bob that's very similar to Mayim's pictures on Friday. It's about chin length in front (plus bangs on one side), and shorter in the back. I wasn't so sure about it for the first day, because my stylist had used volumizing mousse in it and it was huge, but now that I've had a chance to style it myself, I LOVE it! It's very easy to style and it dries sooo fast.
I've been gradually going shorter since about April. My hair was BSL a year ago, then I cut it to shoulder length and had it tha way from April until Friday. I don't know if I could've done BSL to chin-length without a major anxiety attack... but I sure do like it.

My hair is in a bob. I had it cut shorter in the back and longer in the front, but as it's grown longer, I've trimmed the fronts so now I have shorter layers in front. I am trying to be patient and grow it out now.
