I would like to find a new styling cream. I think I am done with gels, just cannot stand the crunch. I do need hold, but don't want the crunchy look. If anyone has any suggestions for a cone-free, alcohol-free styling cream (or gel if it's not too hard of a hold) that will define & hold all day without crunch, that would be great! Thanks...

I just bought that gel also from Sallys and I love it. Its so easy to apply also and I dont get any crunch

Wella Back to Basics Green Tea Gel.

It has one water-soluble cone which doesnt bother me at all (and i am very suseptible to cone buildup) and no protein.

It is very strong hold gel, that dries with a lot of crunch and tight curls BUT once it's scrunched out it gives me 3rd day hair, as the hold is so good. Works great with a cream styler underneath, and if you apply it then wait 2 hours airdrying before going to bed with damp hair, you could probably wake up with great curls!

It's my frequently used gel.

I gave up on gel too, I use Curls Spiral Curls cream (I don't think you can get it at Sally's but you can order it or buy it at Ricky's in NYC, if that is where you are).

Anyway, I get softness, hold, shine, volume and great curl definition without any crunch at all from the Spiral Curls Cream. It's my new HG!

I did not have much luck w/ spiral curls cream - I might give it another try though. I think I was using it wrong or mixing it with products that do not work. If you have any tips on using it, that would be great!!! I have Milkshake & Goddess Glaze. I put the GG aside also for the same reason, but might try it w/ the milkshake this week.

I don't use anything with it. I use my regular conditioner (Suave Ocean Breeze - it's blue) as a leave in, just a drop. Then I plop my hair in a towel for 5 minutes or so while I moisturize etc. Then I add in the Spiral Curls Cream and let it air dry for 30 minutes or so, then I blow it dry.

I have the Milkshake but I only use it, like the Souflee, on days when I am putting my damp hair up in a bun. Those two products make my hair TOO soft and it looks flat with no curl definition (on their own and under products), so I only use them on days I want extra moisture and to give my hair a "break" (like today ).
