Curls loosening with age? Or just in my head

So... any of you ladies have hair that has gotten *less* curly over the years? I fell of the CG band wagon but was getting some nice results from Got2Be curlvacious curl cream. In general, however, my curls seem to be relaxing a lot in the last year or so. I am back on the deva product bandwagon after my big chop to see if it makes a difference. Any thoughts? How did you embrace your less curly selves?

mine is definitely getting looser.... but that still means a whole lotta curls for me. my husband and i were looking at old pictures of me the other day, and even he noticed that my hair was a different texture, much curlier, 3c hair. now it's more 3b/c, with the underlayers bordering on 3a. everyone in my family has that happen as they age, and we're all curly. my dad's hair is practically staight now and he used to have a head full of corkscrews.

Wow Lizzy and Journ- I have never had this happen, but think my different routine with my hair was taking curl out. Do you think it may be a different routine that affects your hair? Sometimes medication can change the way your hair is. Also menopause, and any hormonal changes can affect your hair. Last year I went through something very traumatic. A break up. I thought I was losing my mind. Not only did my hair start falling out but it was almost as straight as a stick. The first time ever, the curl came back.

I guess I don't have lots to contribute to your question but I do know that many people's hair changes with age. Mine is a different color but I still have curl.

Liz- Maybe if you bought some of that curl activator at the store it would bring some of it back. It is a hard question. I am curious now and will surf the net to see if I can find something of value. Take care.

Thanks ladies, I guess I am going to have to figure out what my hair is doing and live with it. I am in a very stressful grad school program right now which is about to become even more so... so if stress relaxes curls, I'm going to be a straighty pretty soon! I guess I'll have to see if going back to CG makes a difference. Of course, the dry, winter weather is not helping!

I'm 30 now and think my hair is significantly less curly than when I was 18. I was just looking at pic of myself the other day. My hair was more 3c and now it's 3a. It could be any number of factors- change in climate (moved from east coast to west coast), change in routines and products, or even change in birth control (went from pills to the ring 4 years ago). Or maybe its just aging.
2c-3a thick hair, 2" below shoulders, long layers
I'm beginning to think mine has changed over the years too, as I don't seem to get the same tight curls as I used to. Traveling (weather and water changes), aging, having a child, getting more gray (definitely straighter!)... it all contributes, I think.

I think my hair has got less curly over the years. i don't thinking dying it has helped the curl!!! Waiting to see if m new short cut brings back more curl. it was most definitely curlier in my teens!
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one! I'm just calling my curls big, fat, lazy boticellis these days! I had cute curls as a little girl-- they went away and I permed my hair on and off from 12-14 when voila! my hair became curly. In my 20's my hair had an awesome curl pattern which has loosened considerably in my 30s. I am learning to embrace it and play with it a bit more.

Hey LB,
It still looks really curly to me in your photographs. Mine is barely mustering a wave half the time
