hair one
I am still loving this stuff. It is amazing. It is better for me than Deva curl one c. It gives more shine. I really recommend either buying it on line or if you have a sallys, go there and try it. I hear it is the same ingredients as chaz wen. Happy New Year.

I could SWEAR the other day day Sally's I saw a new version of Hair One for Curly Hair, I think it had argan oil as the featured ingredient? But I don't see it on the website yet.
I love the Hair One w/ Olive Oil, but I've also tried the jojoba one just for kicks, and hated it.
I need to go back to the store and look again, for some reason I got distracted and didn't take a closer look at the time.

Oh - that one's the dry scalp formula. I saw the Argan Oil one for curly hair, too.
I don't think I'd be able to use any of them. I tend to have issues with glycerin.

I saw the version for curly hair when I was at sally's last week, but put it down after reading 'cones in the ingredients. So I came home and looked up reviews, and it looks like a lot of people said they liked it at first, but over time their hair got worse b/c of buildup, which makes sense. So I dont think I will be trying it after-all...

I have a sample packet of Hair One. I really need to try it. Not sure why I haven't yet. Since I rotate conditioners each week, I figure the build-up issue wouldn't be too bad.

I bought the kind with Olive Oil a while ago, and it worked at first but after a few weeks my hair was limp(not greasy though), it took out alot of my wave(it looked more like 2a/b instead of its usual 2c/3a), and my hair started shedding. I could pull out a handful of hair in the shower. I don't recommend it.

I have been using the Hair One Jojoba ( for color treated hair) for over a year now and I have not had any issues with it. I use it for a co wash only and I do that about evry 4 days. I have not seen the Hair One for curly hair yet but I might just have to try it out sometime.

Hair one
Hey Curly girls.... I just bought a sample of Hair One conditioner for curly hair with argan oil. Just used it as deep treatment. Left it on for 1 hour. Will keep you posted on how my 3b/corkicelli liked it.

I haven't had any of these problems withhair one. I am also using wen, I wanted to see if there is a difference between the two. I think there is a slight difference. It is thicker and leaves my hair very curly and soft. The smell is nicer too, so I will be alternating. I get it on ebay. It isn't cheap. I do recommend both products.

I'm just the opposite. I LOVE the Argan Oil but I don't like the Olive Oil as much. After I finish my liter bottle I probably won't repurchase the Olive Oil one. The Olive Oil formula doesn't keep tangles away as much as the Argan Oil, and, on my hair, the Argan Oil formula seems to retain more moisture. The Olive Oil one leaves my hair feeling very dry after my hair finally completely dries. With the Argan Oil formula, I stock up on the liter bottles! The Argan Oil formula ignites my curls, and it really controls frizz and makes my hair so soft for days. It feels and smells fantastic.
-However, I wouldn't recommend it outright to anyone with sensitive skin, because it's super tingly and cold-feeling (which I love).-
I also have the Sweet Almond Oil one, but it's not nearly moisturizing enough for my hair. I wash my 4 year old daughter's hair with the Sweet Almond Oil, and it's wonderful; no tangles or knots! It leaves her hair super shiny. (If I use it on myself it's to shave my legs, and it's great.)
I have yet to even try a single Wen product! Can you believe it? One of these days I'll spring for some, but I can never figure out if I should try Fig, Lavender, Tea Tree...for the ridiculous price, I don't want to buy the wrong formula. I can't imagine it working better than the Hair One Argan Oil, but maybe that's just wishful thinking.

Where do you buy the liters?
Also, do you notice any buildup from the A-cone?

I buy the liter (33.8 oz) bottles at Sally's or at sallybeauty.com. The liters usually cost from $20.00 - $25.00 (depending on sales, club discount, etc.) Last time I checked, the 32 oz bottles of Wen cost around $50.00, which is why I've hesitated to even try Wen. I'm so happy with Hair One, I'd hate to like something more that costs twice as much! I am very glad the first Hair One I used was the Argan Oil, because if I'd tried the Olive Oil first, I may not have wanted to try the other formulas.
I didn't try Hair One for the longest time because I was afraid of the amodimethicone. I still avoid SLS and ALS completely, and I doubt I'll ever let either of them near my hair again. I truly had been stuck in the "cycle" of parching my hair with shampoo, then coating the scorched remains with silicone products. My hair didn't even feel like human hair anymore. After my 1 year anniversary of being 0 sulfate, 0 'cones, I started getting curious.
I'm a science person, so, by nature I live to experiment, and now I'm in a continual process of analyzing my hair's response to any ingredient I can isolate. I'm not "afraid" of silicones anymore (I used to treat them as though touching a bottle containing them would make my hair ignite into flames), now that I know to watch out for build-up and or dryness. But they are definitely not something I would use in my regular hair routine. Except for the amodimethicone in the Hair One, I still avoid other silicones 95% of the time. Occasionally, though, an outstanding product comes along that's worth a cleansing with something containing cocomidopropyl betaine. (There are a couple of curl creams that are worth the occasional "cheat".)
I have been using the Hair One Co-wash with success for 2.5 months. I use it as a wash, and as a leave-in. For me, if the amodimethicone is creating a build-up, it's either not yet apparent, or it's a positive build-up for my hair. I have done one clarifying cleanse (I used A.S.P Kitoko) since I starting using Hair One, but it was to eliminate styling products I'd been experimenting with. My hair is naturally extremely dry, and the ends are continually fried and frizzy. However, my hair is noticeably growing. Perhaps the amodimethicone helps with breakage?
In any case, so far I do not believe my hair has a problem with amodimethicone, and it may actually be a good thing for my hair...

Make it quick - the liter is on sale for $20
ETA: I have to ask - I stopped in Sally's today to scope this out, and I found the scent rather off-putting. When you file your report, please note whether the smell lingers once your hair has dried. Thanks!

The smell freaked me out at first...especially the Argan Oil one. The Sweet Almond smells wonderful, but I do not like the smell of the Olive Oil formula. I have grown to love the smell of the Argan Oil formula...can't really explain why. The smell lasts in my hair while my hair is wet (overnight), but after it's dry there is no scent.
All of the formulas seem to be the same ingredients-wise, except for the distinctive active, (i.e. Argan, Jojoba, Almond, etc.), but all must have divergent percentages/ratios of ingredients, because they are very different in the way they feel and perform.
The wheat protein doesn't seem to be bothering me at all. Maybe my hair is in a stage where it needs bits of added protein. I'm still not about to do any heavy duty deep protein treatments any time soon, but my hair feels thick and it seems to be growing really fast lately.
Sally's has 12 oz bottles and some "sample" sizes, but us curlies would need about 46 of those samples for one wash.
