Default What is this cut called?

I found this picture when looking for ideas to give my hairdresser when I go for my cut. I will go get some hair magazines tomorrow to look for a picture to take in...I only found this one online. I think this is the one I want...just longer.

Or what about this one?

Back on Cones,so now my routine is,wash with Deva No-Poo every other day or so. Occasionally use 365 sulfate free, maybe use low sulfate shampoo mixed with conditioner once every two weeks are longer. I condition with Aussie Moist or HEHH. I style with a little GF TN,and finish up with tons of GN Pure Clean Smoothing Cream. No frizz...slippy, happy hair.

I'm not sure if I did that right...I saved the pictures to my desktop and then tried to drag the pic from my desktop and put it into my post...

Hmm isn't that just long layers on shorter hair? On the second pic I mean. I love your hair! I just saw the newest pics

Thanks! I mean my hair has been looking pretty good lately but I do have some damage that is driving me nuts, I think I might bite the bullet and get it all cut. Depending on how short that would leave me, I think it would probably still be past my sholders. I love these pictures especially the one of Kerri Russell. Mine is longer than hers in the picture but I think I want the same type of deal...just longer.

Just take that pic to your hairdresser you should be able to get what you want. I think it would look good on you.
From the pics I can't tell there is any damage. If it's this nice damaged then it really ought to look fabulous once that's cut off

Aww! Thanks alot! I haven't been to a hairdresser in over a year so I could really use a good trim. I moisturize a lot but I still have split ends. I get such awful tangles, and believe it or not I do actually remember a time when I could run my fingers through my hair when it was curly. Not when it was dry of course but in the shower when it was wet. Now I will detanlge as best I can but then at the end when I rinse I still can't get my fingers through it. I hope I can find that Keri Russle pic in a magazine because I don't have a color printer and I want to take the pic in and show her.

How many layers is too many layers for curly hair. Mine is longer than the picture, even if she cuts off some damage even if I decide to get an inch taken off or maybe even more than an inch, it will still be below my shoulders. I was reading about layers that layers should flatter the face and that you can have the shortest layer at whatever feature you would like to flatter. Well if that's the case then I would like it to come to my lips which I think would work well as far as length goes...I probably have a layer just about there now. I would like something to frame my face but then how many layers would I need. I just worry that if I start up at my lips I might need a lot of layers. Would that be bad?

I have a lot of layers, it works for me but it does make my hair look fuller. Not everyone wants that.
I've always kept my hair in a lot of layers. I don't know that I'd pick a feature and make my hair that length but hey I guess stranger things have worked.
I go by what my hair is curliest at and hopefully what flatters my face. I'm growing out some short layers now so we'll see how long they get. My shortest one is to the end of my nose now.

I think some webpage I was reading gave best cuts for face shape. My face is pretty much oval and the page said I could do alot of cuts and that layers and that sometimes layers can work as a frame pointing out features that you like. I would never go as short as my eyes.

But anyway, the layers in the back are shorter and I think because the layers around my face are longer that's why they are kind of lifeless and flat. I like the Keri Russell do...but modified to allow for my length. It just seems to have more movement than my hair does?
