Looks beautiful!! But your curl pattern is much stronger/tighter than mine.

Serious hair envy and simple styling envy right now!

Oh, in your picture, i thought your hair was tighter and bigger than mine! My phone plays eye tricks with pictures, lol. But thank you. took a long time and lots of trial and error to get here. I still think you should give it a go. maybe use a conditioner ment for curly hair or with curl enhancement. It may double up and really help you achieve conditioner only styling.

Hmm... I don't know of any curl enhancing CG conditioners... ??? But I'm very intrigued by the idea!!

And I would certainly be willing to give it a try, but my very porous hair would likely not handle it well. It needs to be sealed and filled with gel.

Today my hair looked GREAT, but the. I had to go be outside for 3hrs in very high dews, and my hair is now limp and stringy in places. As it dried it will perk a little bit, but it won't be salvageable.

*sigh*

Anyone do condish only and have porous 3a hair??

LOL! Thanks!

Of course my hair would not have been as droopy if I had laid off the glycerin today. Duh. :/

Yes, I'm open to trying it, so anyone with suggestions by all means fire away!!

Jas my hair is very very porous. I end up applying conditioner while my hair is drying. Ill apply conditioner in sections...tons! Then plop and after about a 20 min plop ill let my hair down to dry. As it drys my hair will fuzz a little where my hair sucked all the conditioner so ill smooth a tiny bit on and repeat as necessary. I also notice I might need a little more conditioner by the end of the day and in the am for 2nd day hair.

Might sound like a hassle but honestly I love it more then any gel I've tried. Conditioner gives me steady results where gel is hit or miss.

Really? And this doesn't weigh you down??

How strong is your curl pattern, though? I think that may be a huge factor.

My hair prefers lighter conditioners to style. I always do the drip test. If the conditioner slides off my hand when I tilt my hand then its going to be great. So I used suave coconut and today I used suave everlasting sun and my hair loves it! Honestly Gel weighs my hair down more I feel. My hair will dry more 2c 3a with gel.

As far as strong curl patter...I really dont know what that means. When my hair is wet its poker straight and only curly on the ends. If i would just let my hair air dry with out doing anything to it it would just be a little wavy. In the past when I would blow dry my hair and try to use rollers or an iron but big curls my hair just falls flat. Sooo...Im guessing that makes my curl pattern weak?

Well, I'm not talking "official term" here when I say "strong curl pattern". I guess I just mean are your curls tight, etc. If you are a 3b, that's stronger than mine - a 2c/3a/3b (mainly 3a). In addition, my spirals are diagonal, and my ends don't curl strongly. You know how some people have little coils at the ends? Yeah, that's not me. But my hair is in definitive spirals, not waves. It's weird. I don't know how to describe it. Water weighs it down, but moisture of
course makes it curl. I need the gel to hold the curl while it dries. Then I break the gel cast and it pretty much stays (as long as it has the moisture it needs.)

I use a TON of LI, but I really need something to hold the curl there while it dries.

I will try it, tho, on a day when I don't have to be anywhere! Maybe it'll surprise me!

Now that weather is getting colder, Im adding 14 drops EVOO to KCKT. Good results. Going to try CJBCLI as a leave in/styler AND try rotating in Tresemme as a rinse out for more moisture.... Could not use Tresemme as a leave in as it broke me out...we'll see.

Ooooooooo! KCKT I just got some. Does it work good? It seems pretty thick. Do you have any problems applying it to your hair?

I just came across this yest & found it VERY interesting! Heck ya to skipping a step right!?

I just bought some Shea Moisture deep treatment & decided to use it today & leave some in to style it as well WITHOUT my usual KKCC & had pretty good results! Way softer, way faster drying time & only the very canopy was a little less curly. My "dryer" curls in my bang area were still curly & way more soft.

So maybe I used a little to much as leave in since some areas were less defined? I raked/scrunched in about a half dollar size blob.

Next time I co-wash, I'll try either less shea moisture or try it w/ my KCKT

DepressedCurls, if you don't mind and if it's not too much trouble, could you list the all products you currently use on your hair and describe your routine? Your hair looks gorgeous!! Thanks!

Yes ma'am and thank you.

I wash with shampoo, sulfate free. Twice a week. I use Giovanni triple treat or Shea moisture curl enhancing shampoo. And then I apply Tresemme moisturizing naturals conditioner, a very good amount and detangle and scrunch, and just leave it in. And get out of the shower and use a tshirt to scrunch it occasionally until it's dry. And that's it. :/ sorry i don't do much. But i also baggy with conditioner and honey and jojoba oil twice a week and sometimes Nubian Heritage Evoo and Moringa deep conditioner or Shea Moisture Curl Enhancing Smoothie for a little protein. But that's all i do hair wise. Maybe it'll help you, idk. I just try to stay veryyyy moisturized.

I used a little Argan oil last night and conditioner only...
I actually layered conditioners because one did not feel moisturizing enough....tressemme naturals, JC deep treatment...even added a dab of Devacurl One C. Sounds like a lot, but I didn't actually use a lot of either conditioner. I got my virgin organic Argan oil from applevalleynaturals...I'm definitely repurchasing!!! I'm glad I purchased the 2 oz, it was also a better price.

It's not thick or rich, but it goes on very smooth. I used to hate it...wasn't using it right. It needs to be properly sealed to work for me. Hope u like it!

I'm assuming you're sealing after the KCKT? I'm going to try this tomorrow!

Wow! You really do take good care of your hair! I will have to look into some of the products you mentioned. Last night, I washed my scalp and hair with Deva Curl One C, added a tiny bit of Angel, scrunched and diffused. My hair is very soft and the curls came out pretty good. I am going to try this for a awhile and see how it goes. Thank you so much for anwering my question, DepressedCurls. I live near quite a few stores where I believe I can get the products you listed. Believe me, I will write them down and take a list to the store with me.
