help! everything I like has a cone...
I really have stayed away from gels lately as I find there has been too much crunch. So I have been using Garnier Fructis Soft Curl Cream – but it has a cone in it. I found another cream, and guess what? Yup, a cone right at the top of the list. Please confirm this cone is not soluble at all with no-poo:
Water/Aqua, Dimethicone, Propylene Glycol, Polyacrylamide, Phenoxyethanol, C13-14 Isoparaffin, Fragrance/Parfum, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium, Chloride, Laureth 7, Methylparaben, Oleth-10, Disodium EDTA, Ethylparaben, salicyclic acid, triethanolamine, disodium cocoamphodipropionate, octhylacrylamide/acrylates/butylaminoethyl methacrylate copolymer, lecithin, phosphoric acid, polyquaternium-10 (D5447/1)

EASILY REMOVED BY IONIC SURFACTANT BECAUSE THEY BOND WITH A LIGHTER IONIC BOND
Amodimethicone (soluble in the bottle with Trideceth-12 (and) Cetrimonium Chloride but makes NO DIFFERENCE on the hair relative to solubility, just better distribution on the hair because the amodimethicone will be better dispursed in the product's solution, still easier to remove)
Dimethicone
Dimethiconol
Behenoxy Dimethicone
Phenyl Trimethicone
This is from the cones post I bumped yesterday that LB wrote.
Cocobetaine which is in no poo gets these cones out
ETA: everything I love has at least a water soluable cone in it except my conditioner from beauty without cruelty.

It's not CG. Have you tried the L'Oreal Out of Bed cream? It's similar to GF SCC, but less gunky and CG friendly.

Thanks Medusa - I just think I might try these out & see if build-up really accumulates over weeks. Even if it means I no-poo twice a week instead of once.

You know, I was in Walgreens & there was ONE bottle left. I almost bought it, but remembered reading that it added volume - I really have enough volume & do not want my hair to look any poofier than it has potential of achieving! Also, I did notice there was a cone in that as well - is it water soluble? I read the bottle really quickly & was in a rush. Thanks.

It's actually a tub, not a bottle, and it doesn't have cones in it. I wonder if you saw something different... It does give me more volume though, which is why I like it so much.

Yes, it was a white tub, not a bottle. I remember seeing Out of Bed "for messy styles" or something like that. They had it on clearance for $3.99 or close to that. I could have sworn I saw a cone. Then again, it was early in the morning & I was pretty tired.

OK, you're not completely crazy.
You did see a cone, but dimethicone copolyol is water-soluble, so this will come out without shampooing.

I do not see cocobetaine in no-poo. Is it only in low-poo?

No problem - so I guess if I really like products with cones, I should switch to low-poo? I really do not want to shampoo, so maybe I need to try other stylers.

Yes if you're going to use dimethicone without the peg or umm cripes c word with it I just saw about, then you'll need low poo. It's not actual shampoo but that one does lather. I mean not like Suave shampoo. It's more like cream of nature shampoo. It's still CG it just suds.

With dimethicone, is poo whether it's sulfate free or such the only way to get this out of the hair? Will an ACV or baking soda rinse work at all?
Because off and I I've used products with this in the line of ingredients and I have yet to shampoo my hair since I started the CG regiment and my hair seems okay. Mind you I don't use products with this all the time, just every now and then, more so not though. Unless the cone is building up in my hair without me removing it and I have yet to remove the darn thing!

I might try it with the no poo & see how it goes. Also, I'm going to try & find something that has no cones in it. And the search continues....
