Default Interesting occurance...

I have several "favorite" products that I use daily, and of course I have the curly grave yard of those that did not work - or that I only use occasionally.

This week for some reason I have started to stir the pot a bit. I've been using different product combinations almost daily, different conditioners, different styling methods and so on. So far, I haven't had a really bad hair day. In fact - my hair has been pretty great this week. The weather has been everywhere from very cold, to pouring rain, to the low 50's and rather warm - so the weather hasn't been a factor.

Any one else ever do this?

I do that a good bit. Use something different daily. I get good hair until I happen upon something my hair doesn't like. JC RR and CCSS broke my good hair streak. The rest did fine, cones no cones soft gel harder hold gel.
I think that works best though when it's about 70% humidity or so and cool.
Low porosity, medium texture.

If it smells good put it in your hair, if it tastes good spit it out!

Oh gosh, I know exactly what you mean! I've been doing this now for 3 years! It all started after I lightened my hair and my reliable and simple no-gel routine couldn't work anymore, the PJ virus got a hold on me!

At first I began trying things from beauty supply stores hoping to find new HGs but later I got a lot of stuff from dollar stores. Some I really did like but the reason they were there was because they were being discontinued so even when I got "back-ups" eventually I'd have to move on. I also stocked up on Dominican COs last time I was there and because they are so rich and my hair so fine they last me a long time. So between one thing and another I ended up with piles of stuff and I only throw something away when I know is too old to be safe so, inevitably, I have plenty of material to invent endless combos.

Part of me has enjoyed the experimentation but it can also get confusing. For that reason I started a hair journal in my computer over 2 years ago but very often I've forgotten to consult it to see which combos were the best so I could repeat them. But even that was not a sure-fire thing as my hair sure has been very finicky, often reacting differently to the same stuff.

So my New Year's hair resolution is to continue to empty as many bottles and jars as I can (but it's going to be hard because this month alone I bought 4 new ones 3 of which I haven't even tried yet...).

I've been doing this too, mainly because of the weather. When it's 20 and 60 all in one week, my hair rebels! I'm also trying to use up some of my protein stuff, and I can't use anything with protein two days in a row because I hate how my hair feels with it.

I do this, just because I tend to misplace products when I'm halfway through the bottle, go buy different ones, and then find the old ones and feel obligated to use them up.
