Round faces&Thick wavy hair ):

So I have a round face shape. And wavy (obviously) thick hair. I can't get layers because my hair gets puffier, and I can't do sidebangs because my hair kinks. Anyone have a hairstyle that's flattering for me?
I have a round face with curly hair even worse :O I think I'm growing it out though
To Past shoulder like length. Search some celebrity faces with circles. Ik Selena Gomez has a round face. I think this suits Selena(she has thick hai) best

Grow ur hair to about shoulder length... Get long side bangs that u can easily tuck behind ur ear and just straiten Ur bangs or blow dry them.... If u just do ur bangs ur not putting heat on it hair and if ur bangs don't look good after a while because of heat find a cute way to pin them back till u get them trimmed. Also many just a couple long layers would work in ur hair but ur hair would have to be atleast shoulder length and brickbrick how dobu style ur hair with deva curl B' leVe in?
I have a really round face and thick hair as well. I grew my hair to somewhere between BSL and shoulder length and sort of just layered the ends. Whenever I get my hair layered they always mess it up so I had DH cut off the long bottom layer!

My face is quite round, and I can't NOT have layers. My hair's just a bushy mess of poorly-formed curls without them. I also have side bangs that are about 5-6 inches. I sometimes have to give them a brief hit with a curling iron to tame them, depending on how they dry.

Your face will look less round with a good cut with long layers, none shorter than chin length, except maybe in your face frame (including bangs, if you choose to go with them). It'll give you more control with a lighter, less-bushy, more flattering shape.

You can find a lot of thread about layers and their benefits, as well as your face frame. There's one in particular by Struttswife, a hair stylist, that's very helpful. All sorts of tips about what to tell your stylist (and check out her site at www.livecurlylivefree.com) .

I agree with AuntNett, long layers will reduce puff, not make it worse. You do need to learn how to treat your hair, and how to let it dry without frizzing it up, but this site will help with that.

I have a wide face, as does my second-to-oldest daughter. I remember her hair was long and she kept asking me to cut it and I kept saying "I just can't figure out how to do it without making it WIDER" because her hair is also coarse, thick, and loosely wavy.

Well one day my brain came back on line and I said "lets try long layers, maybe it will curl up or maybe it will do the rock star waves, but it should work" and it did!

If you want to have a good style for a round face, I highly recommend the long layers - shortest no shorter than cheekbone when dry, angled down from there in front and layers throughout so the ends are thinner. The longer the hair is the better weighed down it will be, but the layers are what make the hair flow down vertically instead of fluffing out in a pyramid.
