Fine haired curlies! How long does your PT "last"?
I plan on incorporating a PT into my regimen and I'm deciding between CJ's Repair Me or Curl Fix.
Before I jump in and buy, I wondered how long the results of your PT lasted. This may be a your-results-will-vary type question, but I'd like to get an idea of how long the RM or CF would last me.
Thanks!

The two products aren't mutually exclusive. The Repair Me is stronger and should (according to Marsha) only be used as a PT. The Curl Fix is a great PT, but people use it as a rinse out and leave in, too.
I PT at least once a week in the summer (if/when I do a second PT, I use a lighter one like the Elucence one.) In the winter, I started doing them every two weeks, but found that I needed to go to every 7-10 days.
You're right, it is an individual thing. My hair LOVES protein. Never met a protein it didn't like. I also use a lot of products with protein in my rinse out and styling products.

I do one about once a week.
Editing to add:
My hair, like kathymack's, loves protein, too. Most of my everyday products have a pretty good amount of it in them.
And, it's true that it's an individual thing. I just experiment and see what seems to work best for me.

RacerWife7, what is the CJAO conditioner you use?

I use CF once every 10-14 days. That being said, I used a conditioner with a fair amount of protein every 3 days so that helps me go longer in between.

Before finding this board, I did protein treatments twice a year around hair-dyeing time.
Now..about every 3 or 4 months.
I use products that have protein--stylers, rinse outs, etc--so I don't feel the need to do a lot of PTs. I tend to go by how hair looks/feel/spirals to decide it's time.

Thanks, ladies. I'm starting to think I have to up my protein because sections of hair look fuzzy even when wet and no amount of product gets them to curl. I used a sample of the RM from KathyMack two weeks ago and it looks I should be doing a PT weekly.
Solidgold, the CJAO is the new Beauticurls Argan & Olive Oil conditioner from Curl Junkie.

Thanks, Curlsanew. Is CJAO a good protein-y daily/rinse out conditioner? I might need to replace my TIGI MM and I love protein!

Solidgold, the CJAO debuted about two weeks ago and I haven't tried it yet. However, there's a thread devoted to it that contains reviews in the Reader Reviews forum.
If I recall, the CJAO doesn't contain protein. The Beauticurls Strengthening conditioner does have protein in it though. There should be reviews on it over at CurlMart.

I do my PT's twice a week. My hair starts to look ragged and limp about every 3 days or so and needs the structure of the PT to support my curls. I mainly switch between Aphogee 2 Minute and K-Pak reconstructor.
I've got CJRM on my wish list though as keratin is my hairs favourite food.
