HELP! 2b/c out of control!

I'm about to give up! Who knew this CG was going to be so hard and so expensive!

I've been blow-dryer free for the past 2 months and I can tell you what an experience! I feel great I'm doing this for my hair's sake (I am a naturally dark blonde with blonde highlights) but at the same token boy did people have to endure a couple of weeks and see my frizz/poof ball, still trying products but it's getting so hard for me to know what's actually working.

I'm going nuts: "to cowash or not to cowash", lo poo or no poo....anyway, just yesterday hit CVS and saw Frizz-Ease Dream Curls Spray I can tell you it worked (for the day) but now I'm not so sure, I used it as the second day and by now even though my waves have turned into w/urls it is a frizz-ball even after me applying spray, diffused and then I applied Garnier Frizz Serum (forgot complete name)....

Anyway, I've tried so many different things from curl cremes to wave enhancing sprays and I just look undefiend and miss my blow dryer which made me feel groomed!

This is what I have and do based on everything I've read before starting CG:

I use the mic.towel, I have DevaCurl lo poo + Conditioner, I even bought V05 Conditioners to start cowashing (did not work hair way too weighed down!!)

I just want: natural waves, definition and SOFTNESS, can't stand that crunchiness, does NOT make me feel natural whatsoever!

PLEASE HELP!! I need suggestions from other wavies and even though I know no hair is the same, I need to know what I can do and start trying ...

My hair is a 2b/c (sometimes) fine/wavy and could get nice curls depending on the products and how I style it (plunking, or putting it up on a bun), my hair can do whatever you want it to do....!

Do those products have silicones in them? If you are co-washing, the silicones will not be removed, and cause buildup, weighing your hair down and making it feel...gross...I would recommend checking the labels :-)
2b/3a, normal/high porosity, fine/medium texture, medium density, low elasticity

Low Poo- Tigi Colour Goddess, Giovanni 50:50, Giovanni TTT (clarify 1X/week)
Condish- CJ Curl Rehab, Giovanni 50:50, Giovanni TTT
Leave In- Slip Detangler, KCKT, Redken Curl Refiner
Style- KCCC, SS CEJ, SS FHG
Treatment- CJ Repair Me! and CJ CR

Dislikes: Too much protein, high glycerin content, and heavy oils
Whew, I hear you about not wanting crunchiness. I'm not a fan either. I strongly suggest you post some of your specific concerns on the 2s board (wavies) because they're a super-helpful and active bunch.
I'm not a crunch fan either. Fine blonde hair and crunch don't always please the eyes.
I can just use a tiny bit of conditioner mixed with a blob of gel for soft waves. Many people are going for a lot of hold, hence the crunch.
You might prefer products with less hold and crunch like Kiss my Face Upper Management (curl enhancer, light hold), Aubrey Organics Mandarin Magic, Aloe Vera Gel. None of these are expensive. Homemade FSG has a little crunch (which you can remove by rubbing conditioner between your hands and SOTC-ing. You might just try using a little conditioner as a leave-in and do your styling with only that.
I am often inclined to comb my styled hair with a wide-toothed comb because I prefer that look to thin clumps.

Have you tried the Pixiecurl method of diffusing? Many wavies like that because the weight of the water pulls our waves straighter, this method enhances waves and curls.

Swing on over to the wavy board when you have time and we'll help you work things out.

I second the idea of posting on the 2 board. Good luck - I know the journey to finding what works for you is often very difficult.
2/c and some 3A.
Protein sensitive but can use occasionally
Highly porous. Color over grey.
Best 1st day method: Super Soaker
Stylers: Mix Curls in a Bottle into everything for shine. Terrible pj
Sometimes try roller sets - classic glamor but I prefer my curls.
Every day is a gift
Frizz Ease products are loaded with silicones, so if you are not shampooing then you aren't removing them. This will cause buildup making hair unmanageable.
3a with some 2c thrown in

I'm basically just highlighting other people's suggestions here, but:

Your products are probably loaded with silicones. You should re-read all your labels and make sure there are no ingredients that end in -cone, -conol, or -xane. They will most likely build up on your hair with just CO-washing and will cause your hair to lose definition and become stringy and frizzy and greasy. Just a little tip: most of the time, you want to avoid things that say "serum." These are usually bursting with silicones. I would recommend doing a sulfate wash (make sure there's no cones in the shampoo, too -- they hide them in there, also! ) and starting over. That way, you're on a nice clean slate and can start fresh -- with the right products and techniques!

If you are after a soft look, you don't necessarily have to skimp on products, which is the most apparent way to avoid all that crunch. When your hair is *completely* dry, you can flip your head forward and gently scrunch out the crunch. It will leave you with soft curls that still have nice definition. Be careful not to do it too soon, though, or you will interrupt the drying process and end up with tons of frizz and looser curls.

You might want to also give all the different techniques here a go! It sounds like your hair would benefit from the use of all the different methods we have here. I second the pixie curl diffusing, like IAgirl said! I love that technique -- it's been a life saver...not to mention a frizz saver! Also, the Icequeen is another great one, and so is plopping, the one you already mentioned.

HTH! Good luck.
Type 2c/3a with lots of hair and a super sensitive scalp! Med/slightly coarse texture, low porosity and elasticity.
