Ok I need opinions....

How bad is Panthenol on wavy/curly hair? I've read it can relax curl, but everything seems to have it in it. I'd like to try and go with natural products if I can, and panthenol is even in a lot of those. Any help is greatly appreciated! TIA!

For me, it seems to depend on what product it's in. It seems to be in nearly every new product I've tried, and I'm not having any problems, but many eons ago, when I tried Pantene, I had major problems, and a hairdresser eventually told me it was the Panthenol. I'm using a product now with Panthenol, though, and my hair is really curly, so I'm going with the product theory. It probably depends on what other ingredients it's combined with.

Panthenol is supposed to add moisture and act as a humectant without building up on the hair shaft. If someone has problems with a product like Pantene, I would suspect that 'cones were the problem, rather than the tiny amount of panthenol they put in the bottle.

I like to add a small amount of dl-panthenol to my conditioner, to make it more moisturizing.
