Default New Product Alert!

Hey ladies, most of you know that I blog about beauty, etc. I recently got to try a new product line, and I LOVE it!! Honestly, so far I think it's going to replace my beloved KCCC, it's that good, for my hair. So, I thought before I posted about it on my blog, I'd dish to all you other PJ's. The line is by Queen Helene and it's called Royal Curl. There's a shampoo, conditioner, styling product and hair oil. The line is free of sulfates, petrolatum, parabens and phthalates.

The shampoo is nice, it's got a good lather, smells nice and gets the job done. It didn't leave my hair stripped or awful feeling.

The conditioner I'm not crazy about, it smells good, and contains BTMS, which I love, but oddly it doesn't have very good slip.

Now onto the real gem, the styling product, Royal Curl Curl Shaping Creme, it comes in a 15 oz.tub. Wowza! It isn't a cream at all, it's a gel. It's got a similar color to KCCC, but more natural looking, if that makes sense. It's almost sort of brownish, or yellowish. It's not slimy or sticky, the way KCCC is. The directions say to start with a dime size, but I use way more than that, probably 2-3 quarter sizes. Then I use it again at about 85% dry, per the Consistently Awesome Hair Technique. This stuff is awesome! It doesn't behave like KCCC does, and the consistency of it leads you to believe it won't have much hold, but it's got plenty. It drys to a soft crunch, but it holds all day! I've been using it for about a week, and I live in Oklahoma, and our weather has been all over the place. Rainy and windy, sunny and humid, and the list goes on. This stuff has held up to all of it without fail. It gives me a reasonable amount of curl enhancement, beautiful definition, volume galore, and shine. It does contain glycerin, high on the ingredients list, so if your glycerin sensitive, this will probably be a bust for you. I love it!

The oil is also great, it smells good, and I use it to SOTC.

Each product in the line retails for $7.95, and should be available at almost anywhere you can get Queen Helene products, sometime this month.

Hey FrizzBgone, the company website is queenhelene.com, however the products aren't on their website yet. I'm not sure exactly what day their going to lauch, so maybe they're waiting to put them on the site until they've officially launched. I was able to find one website, where they're available, here. But I've never shopped with them before, and I thought it was strange that products that aren't even released just yet are available through them. They're also $1 higher than SRP. As soon as I find out a release date, and exactly where they'll be available I'll post update links, etc.

I LOVE Queene Helene!
I use their Mint Julep protien shampoo every two weeks or so as a low-poo - I simply ADORE the stuff!

Can't wait to get my paws on this new line!

From what's on my jar, the ingredients that xcptnl posted are accurate. Thanks for posting, typing that out would be a real pain.

RCC, yeah glycerin is 2nd. I know it won't be for everyone, but it works great for me.

I was quite curious since a single digit cost KCCC is always appealing.

But, glycerin that high would strip my hair dye in no time flat. Glycerin is a great solvent. Having it that high may also limit its seasonability for some. Plenty of people love the glycerin though, so it should work well for them.

Yow, glycerin strips color?! I had no idea. I guess I need to step up my research. Thanks for mentioning that!

Well, to be more specific, it can strips semis and demis and large molecules like red. There's an article about it here if you want to search. I'm phone posting so can't search well right now.

It doesn't seem to bother bleach blonde or most browns.

I do know personally that it affects my red. But, I did just go to a new color that had more brown/red in it.
