Erin's shipping was incredible!!! I ordered on Friday and received this afternoon. I'm hoping to have second day hair tomorrow so I will audition the Styling Mud thereafter.

Are we talking about boiling whole okra or the seeds? It sounds odd... I'm assuming that it's the entire okra.

I am super intrigued by this Mudd!!!! I had wanted to try the FSG but haven't been able to afford it (and I'm sooooooooo lazy and don't feel like making my own!). I still don't have the money but I need a product with more OOMPH to bring out my 2a waves since I chopped my hair. I was thinking if I had a decent amount of magnesium sulfate added to the mudd, it might help my waves pop. Any thoughts??? TIA!!

I've heard from many, MANY people that magnesium sulfate is a great curl enhancer (but I've never tried it myself). It's also drying, though, so if your hair is moisture-deprived or dehydrated, I'd stay away from it. There is a 99% chance you'd probably need a hard-hold gel on top, though -- that's what most of us wavies do. (Aussie Instant Freeze gel has tons of hold as is cheap -- just figured I'd throw that in there! ) Also, FSG is NOT hard to make -- at all! I am not so great at cooking, and FSG is easy for me. It takes around fifteen minutes (not even) for me to make a basic batch of FSG and do the cleaning up (washing the pan out and things like that). I'm going to make another batch right now -- or, just as soon as I can pull myself away from the computer screen.

Thanks Wavy!! My hair isn't too dry but maybe I'd do a medium amount of the mag sulfate to be on the safe side. I have La Bella Sports Gel which I like so I guess I can just add that on top of the Mudd? Thanks again for your input and good luck with your FSG!!! If I do end up ordering this (which I probably will, damn PJ tendencies!!), I'll be sure to post my results.

Awesome! If that La Bella Sport Gel has nice hold, then you should be set. I'm not sure how different the Mudd and the FSG are, but everything I said was what I picked up using FSG (I've never used the Mudd)! I hope they are similar so I didn't totally give you the wrong advice and confuse matters more. I am guessing you will still need something hard-hold over the Mudd, but that's just my assumption. Definitely post results when you try it out!

Well I couldn't resist and ended up ordering the Mudd!!! I asked Erin to put in a medium amount of the mag. sulfate (I explained very briefly my hair situation) and some lavender. I'm pretty psyched!!!! According to the description on Etsy, it's super similiar to the FSG so I am thinking your directions will probably be the same Wavy. I will post reviews as soon as I try it!! Yay!!

Has anyone that received their BB Mudd tried it yet? Any reviews? I got mine in the mail yesterday, but I also ordered some FSG so want to try that first. Any tips on using the Mudd?

I got mine last week but have been too busy to play. Erin said to use it just like the FSG.

I used some of the Mudd yesterday to liven up my second day hair and today on freshly washed hair. I love it!!!!! It gives great hold, no stickiness, and I really noticed a lot more definition in my waves and volume as well. No flakiness or weird texture or smell either. If all continues to go well, it may end up being my first HG!!!!

Wow! Sounds like I missed something by not checking the boards lately. I'll have to investigate this mudd. What's in it? It's not Flax Seed?

+1 Since I'm out of work now, this would be very helpful so that I could test out the FSG and the MUDD before purchasing the entire amount.

Ah...now I saw the beginning of the thread. Sounds cool, but I've been making my own FSG. Keep the reports coming...if it is really so much better, I may try it!
