Default Received my CurlGenie profile!!

I received my CurlGenie profile last night, and I'm so excited! I was confirmed that I have medium/coarse texture, and found that I have normal porosity and elasticity. I had no idea, and I am very happy that all of the color and processing I've done hasn't caused any huge damage. And the list of stuff to try is going to be so much fun! Yaaay!!

Styling: LI, curl cream, gel. Insert various products appropriately.
I <3: Coconut & Argan oil, my Denman, a neat side-braid.
"Oh, you were going to straighten it? I just like it curly so much better..."

Awesome!

Did it take as long as they said it would? I finally sent mine 5/9.

You know, I don't think it took as long as it said. I know it said "up to 3 weeks" from the time they receive your sample, but I didn't send it out right away. Maybe a few days later, and it seemed to be about a week. I felt like it didn't take long at all, and I'm so stoked to start trying things

I just checked and I was given the following results:

Texture: Medium-Coarse
Porosity: Normal
Elasticity: Low

I did a pretty close self-diagnosis. It's nice to confirm.

The product recommendations are right on point with what I have learned by experimentation.
Especially the point about protein which is that medium coarse can be over strenghthen and become strawlike which is why I don't use protein treatments.

The morale to this story is that your hair will tell you what it likes and what it doesn't. We just need to listen.

I am happy that I was right and on-point!
