Default Conditioner makes hair crunchy (not a good look, or feel)

My hair is very dry because of my heat damage, and in order to keep it moisturized when I style it is I leave a little bit of conditioner in. (Not always leave-in) but then my curls get stiff and crunchy and it just doesn't look good at all. Are there any tips or tricks I can use to keep my dry hair moisturized but not crunchy when styling??

Have you tried gently scrunching out the crunch? A lot of products leave hair a little crunchy (gels, mousses, etc), but a little fluffing can break the hard seal and leave you with soft, nice-feeling hair.

I agree with the Lobster (love your name, by the way ) I use a super hard crunchy gel on purpose for hold, then "SOTC" (scrunch out the crunch)

You can also try leaving an oil in over your conditioner. Coconut oil is my favorite, it seals and is also the only oil that I know of that actually penetrates the hair shaft. It leaves my curls suuuuper soft and bouncy.

Hope that helps

Kind of starting from scratch...
Cleanse: various low-poos (still searching)
Condish: Aura Cherry Almond Bark (but always on the look-out)
DT: SMDTM
Styling: LI, curl cream, gel. Insert various products appropriately.
I <3: Coconut & Argan oil, my Denman, a neat side-braid.
"Oh, you were going to straighten it? I just like it curly so much better..."
