Default I tried my Conair Infinity Hair Dryer

I got the Conair Infinity Hair Dryer with straigtening attachment for Xmas. Finally had the chance to try it this morning. Luckily, my husband bought the last one that came with the instructional DVD. It proved to be very helpful. Surprisingly, I didn't do too bad for my first time. I had a difficult time figuring out how to get the ends to curl slightly under. . . I'm sure it takes practice. It did come out very straight with very little frizz. I then took the curling iron and did the ends so they weren't stick straight. Took longer than my normal routine but I am hoping "practice makes perfect" eventually. My husband thinks it looks pretty good.

Just thought I would pass this on to those who might be interested.

How long did it take? Also, how thick is your hair? I don't want to invest in something unless it will actually work on my very thick hair.

Huh, I thought it would be so complicated to get your hair through that attachment thingy.

What I'd really love is one of those Tourmaline hair dryers they have at Sephora, but the things are like $200, so it would definitely be a big splurge.

Was not hard at all to pull through my hair though my hair is not real thick.

Instructional DVD suggests drying your hair partially with nozzle attachment first before running straightening/drying attachment through hair. My hair was probably 80% dry (I washed earlier in the morning and let air dry while I was doing other things). Therefore, I didn't dry first with hair dryer. You section your hair off just as you would to straighten/style your hair; therefore, you aren't running the attachment through all your hair at one time. This seemed to make drying very fast (there is some kind of radiant heat your hair runs over. . . goes through comb, then dryer, then straightener). I found myself sort of combing over the top layer with the attachment . The DVD did show how to do it so you have volume if that is what you like (which I do), but I couldn't quite qet the hang of this which I attribute to two things: (1) my hair isn't real long (above my shoulders. . . longer hair might be easier to work with) and (2) I'm sure this thing takes practice. Hopefully a few months from now using it will just be routine. You can rotate the attachment to 8 different positions to make it easier to reach different areas (front, back, etc) properly with attachment. Also, there are 4 tightening settings depending on how curly your hair is. I had it set on 2 (1 less curls, 4 more curls).

If anyone does get one of these hair dryers and it doesn't come with DVD (think I would have had a hard time without it), I suggest stopping by Bed, Bath and Beyond because they were running the video.

I have one of those too! I tested it out on a small patch of hair last night. Eh....I will have to actually do it right and check back in and let you know how it works. I have 4a/3c hair that is past my shoulders, so I know it will be a bit of an ordeal.

Did you get the DVD? If not, as I suggested, stop in BB&B to watch the video. You will get a lot out of it.

Just remember it is going to take some getting used to. I touched mine up yesterday and was pleased with it again. Will be happy when I figure out some of the tricks that seem to be difficult right now.

One thing I like is my hair feels softer. . . not as dry as it does when I straighten with curling iron.

Yeah, I do have the video...will probably watch it again right before I do my hair. I have some color in my hair now, and this will be my first time having it straight since I did that. It will be a nice change.

I want to do a deep treatment and the whole shebang so it can look really good.

Didn't get my hair as dry this time before using straightening attachment. Had a harder time with the back. Think I was trying to rush. Next time I will let it air dry longer or dry with hair dryer more before straightening. Still like it though.

If my hair looked like the woman with the dark hair's curls, I would never never never never ever straighten my hair.

OK, I look like a crazy person. I have never been good at blow drying my hair, but I had high hopes for this thing! I have my hair in a tight ponytail now, and hopefully it will tame this hair.

I'll keep you posted.
